Points of Interest.....
* The new Margarita-Vision was used extensively with Jimmy introducing several songs from the cockpit of the Goose. saw lots of friends, new & old, including Dave Pittman and crew from Tallahassee getting filmed in front of Ericsson Stadium singing CILCIA.
* One of the highlights for moi was phinally getting to meet and party with Jackson "BubbaFreak" Quigley. Look out Camden, he's comin' your way. Jackson treated us to the 1st look at his newly phinished Parrothead Book, due out this summer. Let me tell you this had to be a massive undertaking for the Freakmeister. It's well presented and loaded with great pix of all of us nutty PH's. The book is only $29.95 and will make a great door stop or dough flattener (just kiddin' Jackson). Can't wait to get my hands on a 1st Edition. Congrats Jackson! Ya dunn good man!
* And finally, I've got dibs on the bait shack used on stage this year. I'm gonna plant that sucker right in my back yard and get rid of the dog house which seems to be getting smaller with all that furniture I've been moving into it lately
Phins Up Camden.....They're a headin' your way

I attended the show June 1st in Charlotte and have read the reviews of it and noticed one thing was left out. Jimmy told us that June 1st is Savannah Jane's birthday and that she turned 20 years old. He also remarked that he was glad he and she had made it through the teen years.

Ok I've been doing Buffett shows for a long time. This has been one of the best in recent years. All you feather-heads will enjoy the old favorites and the new stuff from BHOTM. We had a suprise visit from The Tams, Who backed Jimmy on Flesh and Bone. Ric Flair "THE NATURE BOY" also made a brief appearance whoooo! There were some old tunes you wont hear much like "Ringlin,Ringlin"and some Coral Reefers contributions, Mac McAnallys "Ass with a hole in the ground". One of the best parts of the whole evening NO RAIN! This is the first show in many years with no rain. Jimmy and the band were on and extremely energetic. Thats all I'm gonna tell you. Get the phloc out and get to the show

There was a special guest appearance at the show last night, the president of the WCW (Ric Flair) was playing the bongos when Jimmy played Margaritaville. it was great!!! After the song when Ric was leaving he kissed jimmy on the head. Then after the show when my wife and I were leaving we were walking up the aisle she saw the nature boy and i said "What's up Ric?" and Flair gave me a high five. Looks like jimmy is gonna have some good concerts this year, I would like to attend another this summer sometime??????? all in all it was the best show I ever saw him do. Of course it was the best seats I ever had too. 20th row just left of the stage!!!!!

Wow, what a great night, Jimmy put on a great show to open his road tour and I believe followed pretty much the set that was posted from his rehersal in Charleston. Haven't checked but it seems like he did follow it. Parrotheads were out in groups young and old and I don't think anyone can say anything negative about this show. He even had a guest with him for Margaritaville, Rick Flair who is from Charlotte came out and "played" the bongos with Jimmy teasing him throughout the song. Like Jimmy says...he's on the road again so it must be summer.

Review by Jerry:
The show last night was yet again more proof that Jimmy is still the King. The set list basically followed the one previously posted from rehearsals. There was a couple of exceptions that I remember, Coconut Telegraph was played about five or six songs into the set. And One Particular Harbor was added to the second set. Jimmy played six songs off the new album, You Call it Joggin, Beach House on the Moon, Flesh and Bone (with The Tams singing back up!) Will Play for Jumbo, Math Suks, and he closed the show with a great version of Pacing the Cage.
All and all another great show, oh I almost forgot, Club Trini played outside the pavilion about an hour or so before the show. We were getting into the show when I turned around and there standing on the edge of the crowd was Fingers!! My wife ran over to him and he gave her a big hug! My wife (being a little more "relaxed" than I was) asked him if there was any truth to the rumor that this would be Jimmy's last summer tour for a while. Fingers answer was "Good question, I need to ask Jimmy that myself". Fingers is just plan awesome on stage!!!

Here's some short comments on Club Trini's Charlotte performance:
They started right at 6:30pm (1-1/2 hours before the main showtime). (Watch for Wally and the guys giving out balloons and such to find out where they will play.) Bring stuff for them to sign if you have it. The guys love seeing old albums and out-of-print stuff. Utley mentioned a new live Club Trini album coming out before the end of summer. It'll have the Orlando-Margaritaville performance on it and (I would assume) some other stuff to fill up a CD. When I was getting Ralph's autograph, I asked him if he still got royalties from 'Saturday Night Fever'. He got a big smile on his face and said "Oh, yeah!". I imagine that one song has payed the bills for him for quite awhile!
Here's the setlist they played:
Title Unknown (Song title starts with a V. Utley called it the Viagra song from Heat)
Party Time
Instrumental (from Club Trini?)
Love is Made of This (vocal: Nadirah)
Where is the Love? (vocal: Peter & Tina)
Chain of Love (vocal: Peter)
Club Trini (Back in Town)

Comments_On_Show: I can literally say that my friends & I opened the 1999 summer tour at Blockbuster Pavilion in Charlotte, NC. We arrived at the park around 12:55 p.m. We were greeted by an empty parking lot, so we drove up & parked near the front. We were immediately ran off by security that informed us that the lot did not open till 5 p.m. I informed the guards that they were in for a real mess in a couple of hours when the rest of the phlock started to arrive. So we proceeded back out to the movie theater parking lot near the entrance & started the party there. We were soon joined by a few more cars before the movie theater employees informed us that we were not allowed to park there unless we were going to see a movie. SO, we purchased Star Wars tickets & commenced to drinkin'. (There's a souvineer that I never thought I have, ticket to Star Wars.) To make a long story short, I would say there at least 50 cars in the movie parking lot before we migrated into the concert to continue the tail gating. To all of those PH's out there who were in the Starlight Theater parking lot, I had a blast & will never forget it. (I want to send a special PH hello out to those boys from Greenville, SC: Bubba, LT, & the gang.)
As for the concert, it was one of the best I had ever seen. Jimmy seemed to be having more fun than we were. He tore the place up with Southern Cross. I hope he puts it on the new live album! KEEP IT UP JIMMY! DON"T TAKE ANY TIME OFF, WE'RE JUST GETTING STARTED!

This was my first Buffet show, although I own EVERY single CD of his. I would have to say that the show exceeded my expectations in every way! First, it was great fun just to see all those Parrotheads partying before the show. What a great bunch of people!
Then when Jimmy came out, of course I was in heaven. I thought he and the entire band sounded GREAT! He seems to genuinely enjoy himself on stage. He played all his classics, of course, along with his new stuff, which also sounded great. I loved Southern Cross!
I suggest to anyone who has not seen a Jimmy Buffet concert to GO! You don't have to know all the songs by heart to enjoy yourself. It was definetly one of the best nights of my life!

I've seen Jimmy several times and I must say this was the best of them all, The biggest thrill I got was watching the audience get into the aisles and shagging during "Flesh and Bone." Poor ole' Ric Flair. He may can wrestle but he couldn't carry a tempo in a burlap sack. My favorite pieces of the night were "Southern Cross", "Pacin The Cage" and "Fins". I've already begun my countdown to next year's show.
