This Review is for the Monday March 1st Benefit for Walden Woods at The Boston Park Plaza Hotel: Escape to Margaritaville. The night started off
with a cocktail reception with open bar. Stilt Man from the Carnival Tour made everyone Parrothead balloons as well as provocative ones that we won't mention due to Little Parakeet readership. They served hors dourves and
Conch Chowder which was to die for. Everyone that was wearing a suit and they far outnumbered those in Parrotpernelia was saying they felt out of
place, chock one up for the die hard fans. We then moved into the Grand Ball Room and they had great centerpieces with parrots and orchids. We each got a goody bag with, a Margaritaville t-shirt, a Margaritaville pin and a bottle of lime juice. The food was excellent. Don Henley gave a speech and now is the exciting part. On my way back from the bathroom a lady told me I had to go to the front of the hall as I was one of the finalists for the best Parrothead Costume. I got to go up on stage and ended up in front of Jimmy's microphone! The girl that won the trip to Key West dressed as a Margarita. I was next to her. I could not resist temptation and turned to
one of the roadies and informed him I had to steel a guitar pick and he said "You are not the first with a grin!" The pick says Jimmy Buffett on one side and Coral Reefer Band on the other!
Next Hot Hot Hot blaired over the intercom and Stilt Man and his sidekick started shooting t-shirts. Jimmy came on and performed a phenomanal set Gypsies was a treat. as was Havana Daydreaming and One Particular Harbor. He even got the suits chiming to Math Suks(I offended a woman in a cocktail dress in front of me when I
screamed Math Suks as loud as I could when Jimmy said he was gonna do a new song)! Jill and I snuck up close and to the balcony and got wonderful pictures of the whole band. To our pleasure he played Fins. He concluded this wonderful night with Sea Cruise. One of the Roadies gave me Michael Utley's Set List of songs dated 3/1/99: Awesome!!!! Although I did not
get to meet him this was the best night of my life as a Parrothead!!!!!!!
