I don't know...What would you call having a 36' RV, 500 lbs. of sand, 20 or 30 blow up toys (not those kind  ) 10 to 15 cases of booze, and a couple of pop up shelters. :pirate:

Have to agree with Frank, not enough booze...

Plus you forgot the TWO boats, pool, industrial generator, margarita machine, and fridge for the jello shots.

That would not have surprised me in the least.

Actually, my husband wanted to paint a palm tree on one of them, glue an eyehook to the back, and put a leash on him and walk him around.

Maybe this year ;)

Depends on the venue.

I average 6 - 8 shows per year, the record was 13 in 2000.

Out of town shows.....middle of road.

Fly in, stay at decent hotel, rent a Suburban or Excursion SUV. Slap my PIRET40 California tags on the rented vehicle (yes I know it is illegal). Mark up the windows with "Buffett Bound", the cities I went to that year, shark fins, etc.

Arrive at 11 am and either get in if gates or open or hang outside the venue. I am married now for the last year, but my old M.O. was a different date for each city, all flown in. We would party like banshees until 6 pm, than tone down (stop drinking) so we could safely drive out.

Those were some wild events, from Great Woods to Irvine.

Within Driving distance.....INSANE. For Irvine, San Diego, and Phoenix:

In the early 90's, at all shows I brought in the parking lot a 30' SeaRay boat "Island Dancer" in on a trailer behind my Suburban, wide load permit and all. The ultimate girl magnet, this was better than any RV in the lot, and usually a group of buddies and I would really go nuts.

Today, we bring in our bus style motorcoach and party in style (alas, our new boat does not fit on a trailer). The bus has "Meet Me in Margaritaville" painted on the back and FINS BUS California license plates. Same story, arrive early, drink like crazy...with one twist. We can party in the parking lot all day and at the show, then sleep in the bus...no one will kick you out if you have been drinking!

Being an older parrothead and having to travel pretty good distances for any show, we are usally pretty low key. We try to relax and have a good meal along with a few drinks before the show and then pace the drinking to enjoy the show.

The key word tho, is USUALLY!

Ahh the memories. Last Atlanta show we started our tailgate at 8am. We had 3 tents, a big ice machine on a trailer, 2 flag poles, a small pool and 3 kegs and 15 gallons of Margarita. We had a dump truck load of sand but they wouldn't let us dump it in the parking lot so we had to send it back.
We have our first meeting coming up for planning for this year. I like that water slide idea...that is way cool!

Middle of the road, I spose.. most shows I've been to I was an 'out of town' guest... or places that didn't have a tailgate. :) Still fun, and I always have my tropical shirt, and now BN lanyard, and some sort of silly earrings, my Smiffer bracelet, and Nutmegs necklace. :D

I always wondered whose boat that was!!

We have "hoisted colors" since 1996 (first shows for the other half were '89 and '90 at Hollywood Bowl) on one vehicle or another. The "Pirate Truck" got it's name at it's first show at Irvine in '98 and continued in service until '04 at the Pond, but has since been decomissioned and donated to charity.

The "Pirate Truck Ver.2.0" will make her maiden Buffett show this April, but the amenities will remain: BBQ, cooler full of "mango tango" and "Scary berry" margaritas & beers that are not for the faint of heart, good eats for the first mate and myself, and some form of shelter decorated accordingly.
I don't keep the TQ chilled because with the quality of "hooch" we drink, it would be a sin to chill or mix it.

I do think I have the hat for the party though (check the avatar).

We teeter on over the top. Gotta keep it in some sort of check was we usually have to travel up to six hours for shows.

Our 2005 arsenal included... 6'6" shark shark fin in the back of a full size truck, grass skirting surrounding the truck, teeth under the hood, four coolers of food, one HUGE cooler of ice, GAS BLENDER, hundreds and hundreds of dollars in liquor, margarita/daquiri mix and beer, grills, coleman stoves, tent, pool toys, + + +

We opened the lot at 7:00am last year in Cincinati and rolled out a huge breakfast buffet for anyone that wanted to join us.

Geez, all this is killing me. Is is June yet!?!??!?!
