Frozen Concoction Maker - Man, do I love this thing!

Post by Kasey »

We've had our Frozen Concoction Maker for a month now (an anniversary gift from my sister!) and it is absolutely the greatest.

My son graduated from high school this past weekend, so we had a ton of family staying. I made boat drinks for everyone, it was stupendous. Even the people who didn't want a drink ended up ordering virgin drinks when they saw how delicious the others looked.

On nice nights we have been waiting until sundown and then playing the Island Life game on our patio.

Bit by bit we are turning our patio into an island paradise:
-Flamingos
-parrots
-hibiscus
-mandevilla
-geckos
-adirondack chairs
-tiki torches

and on the stereo
-Jimmy!
-Marley
-Cliff

It is shaping up to be a great summer!

Sounds very inviting to be around. Love Buffett and Marley.

New Frozen Concoction Maker coming out next week!!!

Post by RedSoxParrotHead »

I've seen it on a few web sites already. Probably why places like Williams-Sonoma are offering a $50 gift card with purchase of the older one.

New one is more powerful and hold 2x the ice with switches/buttons for dirrerent types of frozen drinks! Too bad it looks like the pitcher is still the same size...

I think it costs $379.00

Just in time for concert season!

HELP

I'm not sure if my machine is working right. I follow the directions for making 3 drinks, and after shaving the ice and blending it only comes up to 28oz of cold liquid and not a frozen margarita. I have to manually shave a bunch of extra ice to get eh frozen margarita. I'm using ice from the ice maker in my fridge. Should I be using the bags of ice you buy from the store instead? Is someting wrong with my machine?

Linens & Things has the dm 1000 for $299. - $40 rebate from Margaritaville, - $50.00 gift card from L&T, with a 20 per cent off coupon. I may have to get 1 now

We got ours last week and have been experimenting like crazy! All the experiments are turning out pretty great, even if they aren't "correct", as long as they contain alcohol, they are just fine!! :D

Ours is doing the same thing. Not so much shaved ice in ours either (also with refrigerator made ice cubes). Still good anyway because I like my margaritas on the rocks most of the time anyway.
I will have to try it with the ice from the store to see if it makes a difference.

Yeahhhhh!!! We've had ours now for about 3weeks..... I find that like you there just isn't enough volume of ice in the drink....so after it has finished its automatic cycle, I just hit the automatic again and it is more like what I'm looking for.... We use ice from the store.....I have noticed that if the ice is really cold (ie fresh from the freezer) it makes a more finely shaved concoction, if it is warmer (ie starting to melt) it tends to be more course....

we've had ours for about 5 days and we're in LOVE with it! even made up some fruity icee things for the keets and they tasted pretty good!

We ran the lid to the blender through the dishwasher and it got discolored. Scott called the service number and they're sending a replacement out for free. If you're having problems, call them! They seemed pretty willing to help :D

so anybody have a favorite concoction recipe to share?

Ooooh, foofy coffee drinks!
Never thought of those!! Yummy!!! :P

There is a recipe for a Mudslide in the recipe book that sounds really good.
I will have to look up some coffee drinks to adapt to the maker.

I just got the Frozen Concoction Maker and was wondering if the recipes in the book that come with it would be the same ones that are served at Margaritaville in Las Vegas as me and a friend really liked the ones we had there and would love to make them at home. And do you really have to use Margaritaville Tequila or will any Tequila work as I have found it hard to find Margaritaville Tequila in Canada.
Jimmy please play VANCOUVER again. We miss you!

I was (pleasantly) surprised - no, shocked! - to get one of these for my birthday a while back. I believe it's the "Key West" model, but haven't had a chance to use it yet - a little too cold in these parts to really enjoy a frozen concoction, donchuknow?

Does anyone have any tasty recipes? I notice most of the ones in the booklet call for mixes (i.e., margarita mix, hurricane mix, etc) and I'm not sure if that refers to a specific Margaritaville product or just a generic item.
