This show has been remastered and re-edited into new higher bitrate mp3 files.
The new files were not just upconverted from lower bitrate files. These are all new recordings from the original uncompressed DVR capture of the show. The audio capture is done via a digital fiber optic (s/pdif) connection out of a Dish DVR. The signal is sent to an HT Omega digital audio soundcard and captured with Adobe Audition. The raw (uncompressed) Audition file is edited and rendered onto a dedicated data SSD.
To retain the higher sound quality of the show, I rendered the files at 256Kbps (5.5:1) instead of 192Kbps (7.4:1) using Constant Bit Rate (CBR). When performing this audio encoding, there is a trade-off between the amount of space used and the sound quality of the result. The higher the bit rate, the larger the compressed file will be, and, generally, the closer it will sound to the original file.
The new files have the same names as the original files, so they will overwrite existing files if you already downloaded this show.
Preshow Interviews, where available, were not remastered during this process.
Also, the tracks are edited differently so Jimmy's intro talking is part of the song he is about to perform instead of part of the previous song. The run time of the new files will be different from the originals.
