Although it has to read like I’m bragging it’s really more that I’m acknowledging my blessings. And explaining to you who grace my website with a visit from time to time why you don’t hear more from me directly. I am basically a farm boy from Mississippi who was brought up thinking it was poor character to call attention to yourself. So how in the world did I wind up in show business? There’s no good logical explanation why a pudgy Scot-Irish Mississippian who has spent his entire life avoiding cameras and even mirrors is a functioning member of Show Business. Divine Comedy I guess. And Music.

Funny story about Stephon The Alternative Lifestyle Reindeer:

The kicker is that Buffett also cut the song for a Christmas album but never used it.

"It got censored by the legal department," McAnally says. "So Jimmy had to come to me and say, 'Man, I like "Stephon," but it ain't gonna make the album because I'm getting all this flak.'"

"I said, 'Well, it's an honor on one hand to get a Jimmy Buffett cut, but it's maybe even a rarer honor to be censored by the guy who wrote 'Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw.'"

I think maybe the best Jimmy Buffett show I have ever seen was the Kinky Benefit when Jimmy and Mac played and played. It was a magical show for sure. They are a dynamic duo.

Best Mac show I ever saw was with Fingers at the same venue in Austin, The Paramount.

Watched the GAC show. Pretty good. Mac is very humble.
