Getting to Meet the Reefers

Post by Vulchor »

Dont know if anyone cares, or wants pics or whatever...and maybe weveryone had done this----but I was lucky enough to get band meet and greet passes at the Tampa Show this year. Got to meet everyone (except Jimmy of course) and had a bite to eat with Tina before the show and hung out with Jim Mayer quite a bit as well. A really great experience and great time---and all the free drinks you want!

They are, by far, the most personable and friendly group of musicians I think I have ever met. For a group that has traveled the world over and done the things they have done- as a group and individually- I am not sure you can find better people. My MVP of the Coral Reefers- the Coral Reefers themselves!

Sometimes a small group of Reefers will meet and greet in the parking lots --this is organized by local clubs, I think--especially if they have their own records/CDs to sell.
Nadirah, Doyle and Jim chatted and posed for pictures in Detroit last year.
And of course, if you go to Mac's solo shows, he always sticks around for chats, hugs, photos and CD sales.

They are a really nice bunch. I've had the pleasure of meeting them all at one time or another. I'm somewhat envious since I've never managed to meet them at the show and thus may have missed out meeting some of the other staff/support people. I'm glad you got the chance to meet them and that you took the time to share with us.

Off to Meet the Reefers

I was raised in parking lot with music in the air
Sins and fins and luau shirts and people everywhere
They’d sing about the tropics with the words they all knew
Everybody strolling on the party avenue.
Excited by the legends that the parrotheads told
About a Coral Reefer who turned music into gold
We’d ready up a roadtrip with the weather growing hot
Alpine, Blossom, Buckeye Lake or some exotic spot
Off to meet the Reefers
Off to meet the Reefers
Deja deja deja vu, believe it
And it will come true
Veja Veja Veja du
What worked for me might work for you
