Homemade pickles

We are trying to perfect a few pickle recipes. Refrigerator ones not canned. Have you ever made them. So far quite yummy.

This was a very depressing year around our house. Every year we have a huge cucumber crop, just to make pickles. Every year we've been successful with cucumbers, but this is the first year we weren't. Everyone has the mentality of a spoiled child that doesn't get there way.

Dad loves making homemade pickles, his grandmother did it, all his brothers and sisters still talk about how good her's were. Dad passes them out to everyone and no one's getting any.

We grew some hybrid habeneros (sp?) this year, last year we just used some store bought peppers, we were really looking forward to making some really hot pickles.

What kind did you make? We usually do plain, hot, mustard and bread & butter. I could eat my weight in mustard pickles and then drink the juice when they are gone.

I love bread & butter pickles more than candy......
I've never tried making them, that would be interesting.
