What would you serve at a Jimmy Buffett themed party

Post by TurnItUP »

I'm looking for suggestions on what to serve at a "Jimmy Buffett" themed party, other than the obvious "Margaritas!" :)
Looking for ideas for "pick up" food. Thoughts?
And what would Jimmy's favorite beer be?

Thanks!

Last year we had our first Parrotfest on Jan 29 (the Sat between NFL Playoffs and the Super Bowl). We had a great turnout with about 70 people. We had hotdogs and meatballs with lots of snack food. Rum Pineapple chunks are a great festive snack.

If you can grab an inexpensive "steam table" at your local party store and you can use it over and over again. The sterno keeps the food warm for hours.

Have fun!!!

Did you hear the one about me being a punk?
Did you hear the one about me being a drunk?
Did you hear the one about me losing my nerve?
Or how I'm just another f**** sheep in the herd?
Did you hear the one about me giving a s***?
Cause if I ever did I don't remember it.

I made great little cheeseburger sliders froma recipe in his sister Lulu's cookbook. There's also a great "recipe" in this section for cheeseburger cookies that are about as cute as you can get and taste great too. They were a huge hit at our tailgate at Alpine this summer. Have fun!

Nighthawk,

Thanks for your insightful, thoughtful, great suggestion. It would be good for many parties, but...

...this party is a surprise party for the boss at the trade show display company where I work (http://www.pinnacledisplays.com), and I've always thought that it's not a great idea for the workers to get "too" tipsy in front of the boss, even if it is outside of the work environment.

I'll save your idea for our next Halloween party! :)

update: I decided to serve BR's 5 Bean Sweet chili (with sweet Italian sausage). I found the recipe right here on this forum. I wonder if Jimmy's ever had any? :)

Wish me luck! :D
