CORAL REEFER SOUL goes to Tampa

"CORAL REEFER SOUL" is a series of concerts each featuring members of the Coral Reefer Band sharing original music from their own CDs and catalogs. A portion of the proceeds from every show is donated to a local charity.

On April 15, 2011 the 4th concert in the series will be in Tampa, Fl at Skipper's Smokehouse and will feature Coral Reefers Nadirah Shakoor, Ralph MacDonald, Robert Greenidge, "Uncle" Jim Mayer, & Doyle Grisham. Both Ralph and Robert have brand new CDs about to be released and will debut songs from them!

The evening will be hosted by Radio Margaritaville personality JD Spradlin. Special guests John Frinzi and John Patti will open up the show.

If you are in the Tampa area on April 15th don't miss this opportunity to meet some of your favorite Reefers and enjoy their musical offerings.

I love the way you all work together and support one another.

I saw Mac and Ilo and Peter and Jim on stage together last year at the State Theater in Virginia
between the two Bristow, Virginia shows. I think you were performing up in the Maryland Eastern Shore that night.

I can not wait for this show to make it somewhere near me.

When I told Marilyn I was thinking about flying into KW, hangin' with Jack a few days before roadtrippin' up to Tampa, she said " I think you should."
I was dumbfounded!!! I expected her to be the voice of reason telling me not to. I was so surprised I said to her "You mean you're gonna let us hang out that long without adult supervision?!?!?"

This is a great idea and I hope that CRS plays other dates around the country, too!

But it did strike me that this may also be the prelude to life without Jimmy somewhere down the road........not a bad thing, just something to consider.
