1977 Central Park
Is anyone recording the replay this week? It'd be great to have a high-quality version of this (unfortunately I don't have recording software).

Isn't this the same version on jokelben? They played it back in 2007 I think.

Anyone have a setlist for the '77 Central Park concert? Also curious to know if this is the earliest concert of Buffett's that's ever been aired on Radio Margaritaville?

I'm just waiting for Larry to pipe in and tell us that he was at that show and post a picture he took there with Farrah Fawcet.
I knew this girl made of memories and phrases, who lived her whole life in both chapters and stages.
Danced 'til the dawn, wished all her worries away.
She's a long way from a West Nashville grand ballroom gown.

In 1977 I was 25 years old, going to grad school at St. John's (if this show was during the summer I was most likely in class because I went to summer school both years of grad school in an attempt to get out quicker) and nowhere near Central Park. I didn't see Buffett for the first time until Jones Beach in 1988. And I never met Farrah Fawcett, or even saw her in person.maid memories wrote:I'm just waiting for Larry to pipe in and tell us that he was at that show and post a picture he took there with Farrah Fawcet.

Re: 1977 Central Park
I have uploaded the show to the jokelben server. You can download it from the original folder here:
http://buffett.jokelben.us/1977.08.02%2 ... al%20Park/
The new files have new names, so they will not overwrite any previous downloads of this show.
Some show notes:
http://buffett.jokelben.us/1977.08.02%2 ... al%20Park/
The new files have new names, so they will not overwrite any previous downloads of this show.
Some show notes:
- The original files seemed to have a slight stereo sound, although the stereo separation field was not very wide. (This show was originally broadcast over FM radio). This replay was mono; there was no stereo field in this playback.
- Much of the show was somewhat distorted as if most of the music was being sent into very few microphones.
- There was a brief gap before Why Don't We Get Drunk. This gap was present in the original files, so it may have been an anomaly of the original recording.
- Digital hiss reduction was applied to the show.

A the time I was dating an English woman who was 10 years older than I am. In fact, I'd venture a guess she's still 10 years older than I am.maid memories wrote:Meryl Streep?LIPH wrote:An older woman.
