Download Issues at cuebas.net (Sunlover site)

Post by SunLover »

Some users may have encountered problems downloading any shows from my site at ftp.cuebas.net. Users may not be able to download any .mp3 or videos files and/or may not see cover images that I post in this forum. While uploading the Ft Lauderdale show Saturday night, Google yelled at me about malware or badware on my server by displaying a "Safe Browsing Diagnostic Page". I want to assure you that there is currently not any malware on my site.

To check for this, I went through every show directory and deleted any files that were not supposed to be on the server. This included files such as .htaccess, "_i.php", and "default.php". Many of the .htaccess files were hacked to redirect users to unknown sites. Several other fixes were applied to the show content. Shows that were moved to the wrong directories were moved back to their correct locations.

As a result of this issue, I have changed the FTP password as indicated below in the updated graphic, which has been cascaded throughout BN. The user name has not changed. As before, I displayed the user/pass info in the graphic instead of by text since the text content would be more easily crawled by google and other search engines.

If you still see any google Diagnostic pages or a "Get me out of here" type of page, you may bypass those pages and continue with the downloads. These pages may still appear due to dated info and/or when google last crawled the site. As always, be sure to have current antivirus or internet security software installed on your computer.

I apologize for any problems this may have caused. This is one of the risks with having such open FTP access. At this time, I don't know if a read-only (download only) FTP setup can be done. I am still investigating this possibility.

If anyone has any questions or concern, please let me know below or by PM.

EDIT: You should see a new blue graphic above. If you still see the green graphic, try refreshing or reloading your browser to pull the new image.

When is the new tour going to be announced. In my defense, you said any question!
Thanks for all you do to capture the feeds and mix when the feed doesn't cooperate!!!!!! Nothing like downloading a show I went to.

Haha! I knew I shoulda been a little bit more specific with that "any questions" thing. Next you'll ask me why I turned off the lights at the Superdome.

I say the new tour will be announced by the end of February. Only time will tell...

I've been playing with file and folder permissions and I believe I have the correct settings. I changed all the show folders to CHMOD 555, which allows Read and Execute permissions. My testing shows that you can still do HTTP downloads (right click, save as) and FTP downloads. File uploads and deletes seem to be blocked.

This should prevent any malicious uploads to existing folders as well as shows being moved or deleted. I will continue to monitor the root folder to make sure nothing is uploaded that shouldn't be there.
