Does anybody know how to record a concert so that there are no gaps between the tracks? I had software several years ago that would do it, but am now using Windows Media Player V. 11 and it doesn't seem to offer that option. I would prefer to listen to the concert without gaps if possible.
Thanks.

Gapless playback of .mp3 files has been an ongoing problem since the .mp3 format was developed. Most hardware based players (ipod, Sony walkman, etc), including car radios, will always have a gap of 1-2 seconds between tracks. Many software players (WMP, Winamp) may produce little or no gap when playing the concert .mp3 files.
When you say "record a concert so that there are no gaps", are you referring to converting the .mp3s to CD audio? If so, I am not sure of an automatic software solution to eliminate the gaps. I have done batch conversions of .mp3 to .wav to make an audio CD and each file has a 1 second gap. When I make audio CDs of a show, I just use my original single file capture and cut the tracks into .wav, which will result in gapless playback.

Re: Recording concerts without gaps between tracks
There is an option in Windows Media Player to burn the shows to CD without gaps
Windows Media has three tabs marked Play, Burn and Sync when you select the Burn tab you will see a little drop down menu icon below the Sync tab. Click that icon and a the burn options menu will drop down select from that menu the option call more burn options and a popup window will open with a list of options and check boxes for those option, check the box next to the option entitled Burn CD without Gaps. With that option checked your concert CD's will be gapless

Re: Recording concerts without gaps between tracks
I used to have this issue as well. But since I became an iTunes and iPod convert, all my gapless issues are gone when I play mp3s. As long as you have selected the tracks as "gapless" in iTunes, they will play gapless when playing from iTunes or an iPod. I store all my music in the mp3 format and iTunes handles them perfectly.
If you want to burn them to a disk and play them as wav files, iTunes will do that for you.

Don't try to describe the ocean if you've never seen it.
