I heard Nadirah do "Henry" with the Boat Drunks(?) at the Two Seasons in Elkhorn WI before the 2009 Alpine Valley show, and I thought it was great too .... and very reminiscent of the old Peggy Lee number "You Give Me Fever".

Hell, let her do "Fever" too .... I'll bet my flip-flops that she could knock it outta the park as well!

. .wow . . . Bill, you and I are exactly on the same page with this . . it takes #2 in my " would love to hear Nadirah do this " . . . ( right behind God Bless America . . . "

. . I was searching YouTube yesterday to find/hear Fever, by Peggy Lee . . it gives me the same feeling as Henry . . .

. . I also looked at videos of another favorite . . Keely Smith . . her version of " Old Black Magic " was a winner . .

. . another genre recommendation . . . .Gospel . .

. . Mahalia Jackson . . Amazing Grace . . . doesn't get more moving than that . .

. .so many choices, but I also go back to an old CD of Linda Ronstadt called " What's New ? " . . . it is full of '40 (?) type songs from the amazing talents of singers at that time . . .

. .guess we'll just have to wait and see, huh . . . ? ?

Bill ill see your Fever and raise you Bruce Springsteens Fever.

I probably could [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif] but we're talking about songs for Nadirah here.

. . my brain seems to be working overtime on this . .

. . with many requests for the sultry, bluesy sound . . . another song might be " Summertime " . . . . . . and the livin is easy . . . I can almost hear it now . .

. . your voice has such a range, it's hard to pick just one genre . .

. . I like the idea of mixing it up . . .

First of all, I will be buying it, no matter the genre or final song list. My wife is kind enough to humor my crush on Nadirah and her amazing voice. I would love to hear the music that "speaks" to Nadirah done in a way that showcases her talents. There was something about Cultural Infidel on the last tour that just didn't seem like a good fit. I'm not sure if it was the pacing of the song, the arrangement or something else, but I don't feel that it was as good a showcase as some of the others she has performed in recent years.

I'd be interested in a cd of the music that inspires her and/or the music that made her want to be a singer.

Wow, so many great suggestions! I am humbled and grateful that you all have taken the time to do this with me. You have really given me a lot to think about. As an artist I want to do it all but a CD can only hold so much. I am taking notes on all your ideas, downloading songs and running it all by Anna, my Mother. :). I will make some decisions after this leg of the tour is done and let you know something then. Thanks Cindi for being such a good friend and getting the party started.

No. Thank YOU, for seeking our input.

Any estimates on when recording for this CD project will begin?
And more importantly perhaps, when it will be available?

Best wishes always in all you do.

As a Blues project I would love to hear you work with Hugh Laurie and his Copper Bottom Band.

Your sweet yet strong voice would work with Hugh's understated and melodic voice. There is no doubt the band would work with both of you.

Oh, and if you need a crowd to dub in for that live feel, I reckon we could find a few willing volunteers....

The Mistress of Agave and I had the pleasure of meeting Nadirah in Cincinnati. I spoke to her about her new album and she did give some indication about what she was thinking about. After many concerts where we are up front right in front of Nadirah and Tina, it was so nice to have a somewhat private moment with Nadirah. MofA has a girl crush on her and I can't say I blame her. In fact, a picture of me has been replaced on MofA's phone with a picture of her and Nadirah. I agree with everyone here that I think whatever she does, it will be beautiful. We are looking forward to seeing her at Chasin the Sun as we too, head for Florida in the Land Yacht. See you all there! And thank you Nadirah for being such a great singer, but more for being a great person.
