We are having red beans and rice in honor of Fat Tuesday. There will be plenty if you want to head this way
The only time I went to New Orleans, I had red beans and rice every day. Not with every meal, but every day.

We're having pork. Which came from a pig. Which was undoubtedly fat. So, there ya go.
The red beans and rice sounds like a nice complement to the pork. Can ya email me some?
Sure....they might be a little cold by the time they get there, but pass them over a candle and they will be fine.

Yes, it is an easy dish to make. Put the beans on the stove and leave them all day. They don't have much 'watching'...just don't let them boil dry and burn.

Well, I had to settle for Plan B --- boiled potatoes and a southwest vegetable medley (corn, black bean, green & red peppers).

Maybe I'll make chili Thursday. According to the weather guesser on the 6:00 news there's a blast of arctic air headed for the Carolinas and it's going to be below freezing from tomorrow night to sometime Saturday. Chili is a good cold weather meal.
