Great set list!
Hope to see more of these little pop-up shows.
There's a great small venue right near Limeville, Jimmy!

Except Southern Cross, it's a Jimmy Buffett show with Jimmy Buffett songs. What a concept.

Everybody's Talkin', too. I love that one. And his Southern Cross cover has grown on me. If he's going to do covers would love to see him branch out. Into the Mystic was amazing. I'm over BEG.LIPH wrote: December 17, 2017 5:59 pm Except Southern Cross, it's a Jimmy Buffett show with Jimmy Buffett songs. What a concept.![]()
Maybe he's getting inspired by Springsteen on Broadway. Intimate show with some storytelling. I am all in for that.

Everybody's talkin' is a Fred Neil cover and was realesed on Meet Me In Margaritaville. He has played Southern Cross on tour since 1996. That's over 20 years and BEG even longer into the late 80s. I think it's safe to say they are part of the big 12 now. I would obviously like more sets like this but don't mind his covers of those songs. I actually prefer them over the originals. When many people think of those songs I bet jimmys name pops up very quickly for them

I missed Everybody's Talkin' when I looked at the setlist. I like Southern Cross but I'm tired of hearing it. As far as BEG, I've seen Van Morrison in concert twice. Buffett should never sing that song again. Just my opinion.FinsUp6835 wrote: December 18, 2017 6:36 amLIPH wrote: December 17, 2017 5:59 pm Except Southern Cross, it's a Jimmy Buffett show with Jimmy Buffett songs. What a concept.![]()

Re: Key West Surprise Show Setlist?
You like Jimmy's version of Southern Cross over the original? I love the song but the CSN version blows away the JB cover version (in my opinion anyway). The CSN harmonies just blow me away. Mac and the rest of the Reefers can play (no doubt about that) but the voices/harmony of CSN just take the original version over the top(at least for me).FinsUp6835 wrote: December 18, 2017 6:36 amLIPH wrote: December 17, 2017 5:59 pm Except Southern Cross, it's a Jimmy Buffett show with Jimmy Buffett songs.
