Hi all!
'In the song Mailbox Money and the line 'That song I penned in '81 still keeps our world afloat', makes me wonder what song he may be referring to?
I don't think it would have been anything from Coconut Telegraph or Somewhere over China but maybe a later album?

Re: Mailbox Money - Question
Maybe One Particular Harbour since it came out in 1983.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Re: Mailbox Money - Question
I assume that it is because seventy-seven did not fit the rhyme or the meter of the song.hangoutgang wrote: June 30, 2024 7:32 pm Hi all!

Re: Mailbox Money - Question
Yeah, creative license/metaphor. Could refer to any song, which is better anyway, because I'd argue 1974 is far superior to 1977 in that regard.

Re: Mailbox Money - Question
The biggest question I have with this is song is why did he become the mailman at the end?

Obviously so he could use the line "Jump start my Johnson and spread the love around"CaptainCaputo1987 wrote: August 7, 2024 10:49 pm The biggest question I have with this is song is why did he become the mailman at the end?
