We’re Still Here Wednesday @ the MSC

Post by SMLCHNG »

Good morning!

Still in Wisconsin, but it's our last day here. Flight home is late afternoon tomorrow.

Had a very late night dinner with E's work/railroad people last night. Good dinner!! And expensive. :o Good thing we didn't pay for it.

Off to do a little pre-packing, so not much to do in the morning.

Have a good Wednesday! :)

Good afternoon Penny.

I'm starting to rebuild my DVR library since Spectrum replaced my set top box, Casablanca was on Cinemax at 4:34 this morning and I recorded it. I still need Goldfinger and The Thing From Another World.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Hi there! I was running upriver in my jet boat when I flushed an eagle. He flew ahead of me at eye level for 200 yards before i passed him.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Nice.

Lucky it was one of the species endemic to the US - Our Wedgetails are monsters and are not afraid to take on cars, boats and trucks.

It's why we're all a cross between Mick Dundee and Steve Irwin...

You do know the Crocodile Dundee films are documentaries, right?

After one of our trips to Down Under, I commented that all the Aussie men tended to look like either Mel Gibson, Andy Gibb, or Mark Jackson and all the Aussie women looked like Olivia Newton-John, Nicole Kidman, or Mark Jackson. (I know, dated references, but it was a long time ago!)

Many years ago, a couple of times a year, I used to travel to a large test lab facility in Florida for work. At least once every trip I would turn up at the lab dressed in a khaki shirt, khaki shorts and elastic sided boots. I would spend the day saying things like "crikey, ain't she a beauty", "stone the crows, cobber", "pickle me grandmother" and other cliched Australianisms.

It astonished me how many, usually intelligent American co-workers couldn't see that I was "bunging it on" and having a jolly old time at their expense.

It was even more revealing that when we went for a drink after work how many people believed the whole Steve Irwin shtick...
