Evening all...
Another hot one again today...
I saw that the heat index got as high as 107° :o Needless to say, after breakfast on the deck, I stayed inside!

We spent time arranging for the extra hotel rooms we need for our trip to Buffalo. We had booked an Air B&B for the 3 nights around the wedding quite a while ago, but we decided we really need to break the ride there and back up because the ~8 hour trip is just TOO long to do in one day for us these days... it sucks getting old!

Larry - sorry you got drenched not once but twice today... and those poor cornflakes, :( they won't dry out as easily as your hair and may be a lost cause.

Penny - glad your weather broke a bit. Highs in the 70s is my cup of tea! :)

I had my annual appointment with my Sleep Therapy doctor today. To be covered by insurance, I have to use my CPAP machine at least 70% of the time. My last unit had a sim card that I had to bring with me, but my current unit sends data automatically via the cellular network. He already had a graph showing my annual usage data pulled up on his computer monitor when I went into his office. I explained that the two big gaps in my usage were from my December and June trips to Italy when I didn’t take my machine with me. Even with the gaps, I had better than 70% usage. We spent at most five minutes talking about my sleep apnea and then spent the balance of our time talking about Italy; it turns out that he too is a big fan of Tuscany.
After that appointment, I went to the lab to have a blood draw (oh boy, needles!) in prep for an appointment tomorrow with my cardiologist. They were actually successful on the first stab. Whew!

I highly recommend the finger lakes for a layover, Elaine. Ithaca Falls is 20 minutes from the thruway with wonderful views of the lake from wineries.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

YAY!!!!!!!! :D

I had my blood donation for my iron/ferritin levels, she did a great job on the first poke. I don't usually have any issues. Took 7 minutes to fill the bag.

Correct! I called it Ithaca Falls. Seneca Falls was the town that inspired the town in the movie It's A Wonderful Life where the town's name was Bedford Falls. If you have any time to explore, drive west to Geneva and take S. Main st (rte 14) just south of town to see gorgeous mansions and a little further, wineries. You can take 14 north to pick up the thruway.

I was wondering... I am not familiar with a town named Ithaca Falls, but I do know Ithaca is at the base of Cayuga Lake and nearly an hour south of the thruway, so I figured you may have meant Seneca Falls too! And YES it is known for 2 things, the birth of the women's suffrage movement and the basis for the fictional town of Bedford Falls. So we really DID think alike!
