I have 4 hours before my flight leaves but I think I'm going to check out of the hotel early. I have to stop at the gas station because if I don't bring the rental car back with a full tank they're going to charge me $4.98/gallon. And the rental lot is off-site so I have to take the shuttle to the airport. If I have to hang around and wait it might as well be at the airport instead of the hotel. The people watching will be better.

Good morning, Larry. We are going to a nice craft festival with lots of people watching, mostly mature women buying fall displays that will be thrown out in a few years.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Safe travels home, Larry!
Hope it all goes smoothly.
Good morning Bill!!
Not a lot going on here. Making breakfast soon, and surf/turf for dinner. Bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops, with small steaks. OSU plays today, but doubtful we'll see the game on our streaming services.
Mid 40's right now, heading to about 80.

This trip is off to a good start. My flight was supposed to be at 12:30, I just got an update that boarding time is now 12:30. We're already 1/2 hour late. If that's the only problem I should be okay, the original schedule had a 2 hour connection time in Baltimore, now it'll only be 90 minutes.

We're under an Air Quality Alert thanks to several wildfires in the PNW and we also have a marine inversion layer (fog) this morning. It looks like nuclear winter outside my window. The fog should burn off by noon, but the smoke is gonna be around until next week.

A guy just walked by wearing a hockey jersey. Instead of a uniform number on the back it had a picture of an Oreo cookie.

There's a place in the St. Louis airport called Three Kings Public House. It has fake brick walls and the three kings are painted on one wall - Elvis, Henry VIII and King Kong.

No marine inversion here, but wildfires are making it smokey.SeattleParrotHead wrote: September 6, 2025 11:15 am We're under an Air Quality Alert thanks to several wildfires in the PNW and we also have a marine inversion layer (fog) this morning. We had some rough air coming into Baltimore and it was raining when we landed. The rain stopped but it's overcast and I got a weather alert on my phone, severe thunderstorm watch. The boarding time for my flight has been changed from 5:25 to 6:19. Oh well, I didn't have any plans tonight.

I think we are in the path of that same band of storms... so far it is just a LOT of rumbling... but it is getting very dark, so I suspect the rain is imminent...
I just hope there is no tornado action.
Hopefully, your flight home has gotten off OK by now...

Re: Heading Home Saturday @ The MSC
Just got a text message from Southwest, estimated departure time is now 7:24. We were supposed to land at MYR at 7:25. As long as we land before 10:00am tomorrow so I don't have to pay for an extra day of parking.

I found a copy of "On the Beach".... I think I'll have to watch it in preparation.RabtzDownUnder wrote:It's just a trial run for your new "Department of War".SPH wrote: We're under an Air Quality Alert thanks to several wildfires in the PNW and we also have a marine inversion layer (fog) this morning.
