Good morning BN. We're off to the finger lakes today for some wine and food. Enjoy your day, PHolks.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning Bill and BN!
I have the pleasure of my annual mammogram this morning. Wheeee!
A stop or two on my way back home, but that's about it.
Have a good Wednesday!

Good morning Bill and Penny.
I have to go grocery shopping so I can get my senior citizen discount.
I lived in New York for 60 years and I never went to the Finger Lakes.

Re: Wine on WEDNESDAY @ the MSC
Hello Everybody !
Another quiet day here at CC.
I've got to get an EKG and blood work for my 10/9 surgery. There are several walk-in places close by & since we have friends who each work in the health system we use they gave me tips on what times are better (not that we've got tons to do every day but still.....).
Yesterday we got a $62 bill from an ambulance company that transported mom back in February. The first time they submitted their claim to her insurance it was denied since they didn't provide all info. Then out of the blue we get a bill. Highmark says we owe nothing. They need to resubmit the claim correctly since it would be paid in full. I left them a detailed message including 2 times saying "we are not responsible for this bill so we won't be paying it".

Only $62? That must be just the co-pay portion, ambulances around here are about 20X that....Linda!Linda!Linda! wrote: Yesterday we got a $62 bill from an ambulance company that transported mom back in February.
I went through that when my mom died. The doctor's office kept calling me about her doctor bills. I finally told them "look, I'm not responsible for her bills. I do, however, think that the doctor is responsible for her death, so if you don't stop calling me I'm going to look into a malpractice suit." They stopped calling.Linda!Linda!Linda! wrote: Then out of the blue we got a bill.

She was seeing an osteopath that was treating her for all kinds of maladies. She wasn't responding to any of his treatments, so they hospitalized her and discovered she had Lung Cancer. It was so advanced that she died from it four days later.
That was a long, long time ago... Her 106th birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, but she only made it half way; she died when she was 53. Her funeral was on my 23rd birthday.

I was just minding my own business and the the next thing I know I''m the same age as old people….

I had a couple bills come in nearly 11 months after my wife passed. Our insurance plan was through her workplace so when I got them I reached out to her employer who handles their medical (knew her well). She said don't pay a dime. I'll put a stop to this ASAP. Mission was accomplished without any further hassle

The total charges were over $2000. If they didn’t correctly file the claim with insurance (which they never did) then who paid the rest of the charges ?SeattleParrotHead wrote: September 10, 2025 12:55 pmOnly $62? Went to get EKG and blood work. (Walkins only). At 1:45 I was told the tech was at lunch and there was a 30 min wait. I’ll go another day.

Our daughter & her husband live on the western shore of Cayuga, very near Taughannock State Park, which has an easily accessible waterfall that is even taller than Niagara Falls!
Thank you for asking, Penny... I don't either!SMLCHNG wrote: September 10, 2025 4:39 pm Linda - I'm not remembering what surgery you're having next month?

Thanks Penny. They weren't outrageously expensive bills, however I was just shocked that it took that long after she passed before they came in. She had excellent insurance coverage too so we had been fortunate in that regard.SMLCHNG wrote: September 10, 2025 2:24 pm ((((((Mr. SPH))))) I'm so sorry to hear that.![]()

Re: Wine on WEDNESDAY @ the MSC
Wednesday saw me spend most of the day travelling to and from, then waiting to see an orthopedic surgeon with severe time management issues. I had an early appointment but even then he was running an hour late.
The upshot is minor surgery in a couple of weeks to release stenosing tenosynovitis. I guess the next local archery tournament is off my calendar then. The following one too...
A couple of weeks ago we got some new chickens. To say that the integration with the existing flock has been less than smooth is an understatement. Yesterday, when I got home, the new birds were out in the open air part of the run, with the older birds. That was a first. I then opened the door to let them out into the orchard for a run and a scratch around. The new birds still were hesitant to go out. They would go out and then run back in.
Well they did that until it was time to put them all back in their run. The youngsters were having none of that. The older birds went in but the young ones were being recalcitrant. By the time I herded them in, the older birds had decided to go back out. Then the reverse happened. This repeated four or five times.
Finally I had to catch them and put them away by hand. By this time it was pouring with rain and while grabbing the last bird, I slipped in the mud and fell to my knees. I am pretty sure I've torn an intercostal or something around there.
Needless to say, they aren't getting a run today!

I had what's called "Trigger Thumb" surgery last year. Worst was the numbing injection.. but surgery/recovery wasn't terrible. Hope yours goes well!Rabbitz wrote: September 10, 2025 6:00 pm The upshot is minor surgery in a couple of weeks to release stenosing tenosynovitis.
