Slow Lane TUESDAY @ the MCS

Post by Saltx3 »

Good Morning everyone!

Kevin has a dentist appt at 8:30 this morning.

That's all we have going on today. I'll need to find something to do :).

I grabbed a box of wine bottle corks from Total Wine yesterday so I may start making some decorations since I'll be "handicapped" in a few weeks for a month or 2.

Good morning Linda and BN! :)

I'm having lunch today with one of our waitresses from Dukes. :) We've become friends, and the last time we tried to do this was when my car window crapped out. Then our rescheduled date was just after my fall. Today better not have any hiccups!! Then I have a haircut afterwards.

Temps here are only going to barely reach 70. :D

Blood donation went well yesterday. Filled up the bag in less than 15 minutes.

Off to make coffee for E. :)

Good morning Linda and Penny.

I heard Robert Redford died, he was 89. I'm sure I saw other movies he was in but the 2 I remember most were Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid and The Sting.

I heard that too, Larry. He was one of my favorite actors. I loved him in "The Natural", "Barefoot in the Park", "The Way We Were", and "Sneakers". There were a lot of others, but those I can remember.

But I just got results of yesterday's blood work/donation. :D The reason I've been giving blood every 5-6 weeks is to reduce my Ferritin levels. Too much iron in my blood. A year ago my level was at 1065, as of today I'm at 60, which is normal!!! :D :D

Good afternoon gang!
Sail on Mr. Redford.
The Sting was THE classic IMO. Recall seeing it in the theater & it's one I'll still stop & stare at if I happen to be surfing & I come across it.
Still getting absolutely gorgeous weather here in the Great Lake State. Wish it could last forever. Doubtful, but will take what we can get.

So many times, in this over the top world, normal is boring.

Thanks everyone for all the Anniversary wishes yesterday.
Today was my day off and I had a doctor's appointment, which went well and I don't have to go back for 6 months.
Then I made the hour drive to Columbus to cash out a CD my dad had taken out for me. Of course they made copies of everything and when it's verified they'll send me a cashier's check. So much for a day off. At least my therapist called me back today and after her 2 weeks off, she has Covid so I can't see her until Monday afternoon.
Have a great rest of your day.

I went to one of our local craft brewers for lunch, I had a coupon for $2 off a pint and they make a really good Cuban sandwich. After I had my pint I was trying to decide what else I wanted to try. They had one that sounded interesting but it was 10.6% abv. :o They sell their beers in pints, 10 oz. and 5 oz. I had a 5 oz. pour of the high octane beer and it was really good, nice and smooth for such a high alcohol content.

They usually have a hard seltzer on tap but didn't have one today. The guy behind the bar said they were making a new one but it wasn't ready to tap yet, strawberry margarita seltzer. I'll have to check their beer list on the Untappd app every couple of days so I can go back and try that when it's tapped.

There was also a woman behind the bar, very attractive. Except for the nose ring.

A bead on the side of the nose is okay. Those double beaded ones through the septum look like boogers.

I saw that... I will always remember him as The Sundance Kid, probably because that was the first movie I recall seeing with friends, so it holds a special place in my memory. The Sting, The Natural, and All The President's Men also come to mind... He had so many wonderful roles and directed some great films, too.

I always think of Fatima...

Well, he brought that camel to a screechin' halt
In the rear of Fatima's tent
Jumped off Clyde, snuck around the corner
And into the tent he went.
There he saw Fatima layin' on a zebra skin rug with
"Rings on her fingers and bells on her toes
and a bone in her nose ho, ho."

You sure couldn't play this song in today's PC world, parody or not.....

I'm not fond of the look. One of our friends has a very large one, and when you look at him, that's all you see. :-? I've seen really tiny ones that aren't as offensive (IMHO).
