WEDNESDAY @ the MSC
Hello everyone!
Last night was a repeat of Monday. Woke at 3 with a horrible coughing spell. Out to the sofa I went. At least I had a few afternoon hours yesterday that were cough free.
I’d like to food shop this morning and then head to the beach. We’ll see.
Enjoy your hump day doing whatever legal thing makes you happy.

Good morning!!
Leaving shortly to have breakfast with Cameron and then head over to the storage unit his father once owned, and going to try and clean it out as much as possible. This might take two trips. Using a company called 1-800 Got Junk to assist in getting rid of most of it.
Rain has finally stopped, and we got about 1.5", which is good.
Have a good Wednesday!!

Good morning, ladies. Hope you get better, Linda. We head to Cleveland for my eye appointment tomorrow.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good afternoon, at least to my fellow east coasters.
I have to take a ride to World Market later. They've been advertising Christmas stuff already so I want to see if they have any peppermint bark yet.

Feel better soon, Linda!!!
Good luck tomorrow, Bill!!
Hope you find some, Larry!! YUM.
At the storage unit. They've cleaned out a lot, and had to go get another truck. (The one they came in was half full). Really nice guys. There were some other workers in the area installing new doors. Cameron gave one of them a welders mask and a compressor. They were very grateful. I raised a good kid.

Re: WEDNESDAY @ the MSC
They had 3 flavors of peppermint bark - dark and milk chocolate, white and dark chocolate and s'mores. I bought dark and milk chocolate. When that's gone, I'll go back and try one of the other flavors.
I also checked their beer section while I was there, they usually have stuff I can't get anywhere else. They had a hard cider, or cidre, from France so I bought one. When I got to the cashier, a very cheerful young woman, she said "I apologize but I need to see your ID". I told her she didn't have to apologize, she was just doing her job. As an aside, I've had to show ID more often since I turned 60 then I did when I was in my 20s.

Re: WEDNESDAY @ the MSC
Hi all.
I am so bored. So much work to do around here and two days of not being able to do anything and I am going nuts.
I can't even sit and read as I cant hold the book (and I can't find my newest reading glasses so am using an older pair which I am struggling with).
To top it off, a bunch of parts I ordered from China have arrived—but I can't do anything with them, so that is annoying.
I am curious about the ID checking thing. What is that about?

I understand the boredom. Hopefully it won't last much longer.Rabbitz wrote: September 24, 2025 8:31 pm I am so bored.

In the US, many liquor stores and restaurants ask for ID to make sure someone is over 21. Visually you can often obviously tell, but that's the law. If you DON'T check, it can occasionally be an enforcement officer, and the business can lose their liquor license.

legally purchase alcohol. No matter how old you appear to be. I'll be 70 next month and I think it's a real
pain in the butt.

I just think it's stupid that I have to prove to some 25 year old kid behind the counter that I'm old
enough to buy a six-pack.

Re: WEDNESDAY @ the MSC
Today I was moral support to Cameron, as he had a company come to empty his late father's storage unit. Such as mess, as it's been pretty much sitting there for nearly 8 years. There's a few things left (a restored engine to sell, a motorcycle to sell, and the tool chest and a dresser he's keeping). It took 3 1/2 truckload and about 4 hours. Before and after... And over 4k'ish for the pick up. However, the 2 guys who did the work were awesome!!!

Thanks, Mooogy. It really was. The two guys (and Cameron helped a bit) did a great job!
