I got my property tax bill in yesterday's mail, it's exactly the same amount as last year. That's never happened before.

Ours went up about $200 because the appraised value went up $31,000 (no idea how they come up with that)

I'd blame the palm tree and white rocks.

I actually was typing up a message, but then received an important phone call & never ended up getting back to my message to post. And I DO believe that happened over 200 times yesterday

As to the property tax discussion... we have a law setting a 2.5% increase limit, BUT that is for the total taxes collected by the town, not for each household. Ours have gone up at least twice that, each and every year.
I guess we are somehow subsidizing folks whose levy goes up substantially less.

Our property taxes actually went down $400 this year after going up more than $2,000 last year.
