Good Morning "Ms. Laundry Lady" & the BN community.

Gloomy chilly fall weather day here in the Great Lake State. Not a major ordeal as don't really have any outdoor things I wound be doing today. Just focusing on inside work. Other than that putting one foot in front of the other.

Back to work, over & out

Good morning Penny and Ken.

Getting ready to leave for the Red Cross for my platelet donation. Two hours in the chair with needles in both arms, my afternoon is shot. Although I'm worried my hemoglobin might be low, I donated whole blood 10 days ago so I might still be low on red cells.

Good luck with the donation, Larry. :) I'm hoping my Monday donation I can start to do them every six months, instead of 5 weeks.

Oh, and don't forget your OJ!! :)

Hello Everyone!

Not much going on here today. Kevin left to grab subs & then head to our friend Scott's house so they can continue to watch Breaking Bad (for the 3rd time).

I'm going to chair yoga at 3:30 and then the local Habitat for Humanity (across the street from Yoga) is having a holiday "event". I'll going with one of my neighbor girlfriends.

Our church small group has disbanded as the leaders stepped down (after 3 years). Our church will be starting new weekly program in January which will be a little different than the small group program.

It's a beautiful day in the Cooper's Bluff neighborhood.

SeattleParrotHead wrote: October 23, 2025 12:31 pm We're home from a 2,200 mile road trip down to the SF Bay area. It's about 700 miles each way if you take I-5, but we meandered our way down US101, taking three days to get there. We've made the trip many times over the years, driving down to see family (Mrs SPH grew up in the Bay Area), or taking kids off to college. Both she-'keets [smilie=battingeyes.gif] went to Santa Clara University, so there were eight Septembers when I drove them (and their stuff) back to school and almost as many Junes when I retrieved them. We would usually make the drive in one day because the car would be packed with "stuff" and we're always nervous about parking the car overnight with anything of value in it.
We drove down the Pacific coast on US101, spending the first night halfway down Oregon coast (Lincoln City) and the second night about 100 miles into CA in Eureka. The sea stacks along the Oregon coast and the Redwood Highway in northern California are spectacular and we took our time driving down, stopping many times to take in the sights. About 200 miles into CA, we left US101 and followed CA State Route 1 ('the Pacific Coast Highway) down through Ft. Bragg and Mendocino and on down the coast.
Once in the Bay area, we spent six days with the kids and other family members before heading back north. We pretty much followed I-5 home, veering off onto US99 when we could. Before I-5 was built, US99 was the main north-south route on the west coast, stretching 1,700 miles from the Canadian border north of Seattle all the way down to the Mexican border near San Diego. It pretty much follows the I-5 path, but is designated at the "scenic route" and passes through many small towns and farming communities as it winds its way through the countryside.
It's the first time we've made the drive since retirement and it was great to not be in a hurry to get someplace. It's good to be home though....

I was right, my hemoglobin was low and I couldn't donate. But I remembered to stop at the supermarket on the way home and get orange juice. Now I think I'm done for the day.

C'est laundry day Chez Soul, aussi...
Just the typical 4 loads, I'm all done now until next Thursday when I do it all over again!

MrSPH sounds like a great trip. And YES not being on a time crunch makes things so much more enjoyable!

And mine weren't the typical 4 loads, but that was from being at my sister's house for 6 days. :)

Midnight. Spotify. Zappa Halloween 3 and half hours concert from 1978 plus oct 27th 1978 show from the Paladium NY. Plus couple of other classic album reissued and new material. I think Springsteen Nebraska Elton John has something and A EP from Bowie.

Im sorry I sold my soul but I can listen to back catalog albums without extra expense.

That sounds pretty cool. May have to do some digging in my spare time & do some sampling of that!
