THURSDAY @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Good morning everyone!

Sun is shining and it appears the rain will stay away today. Book bingo and yoga at the library for me this afternoon. We’ve got to get back to the gym. If only for treadmill for me. Kevin doesn’t like me walking the neighborhood with one “non working wing”. Apparently he’s concerned about me falling. I’ll tell him he can keep an eye on me at the gym by using the treadmill next to me.

We’ve got trick or treat tomorrow evening. “Down here” it starts at 5 and goes as long as the kids are still out or the homes run out of candy. Whichever occurs first. And they promote giving candy to older teen kids since “they could be doing bad stuff instead” so just give them candy. “Up north” trick or treat was 6-8 pm and no one over 12 was to participate. Last yr our bowls were empty by 7. This year we’re not giving out candy.

G'morning pholks!

Well, it done got cold here in Texas (north of Dallas) so I've got a hankering for either chili or gumbo.

Which do y'all suggest? It will be gumbo ya ya (chicken and sausage) since that reheats better than seafood gumbo.
Hank Hill : Just in case I'm incapacitated for some reason, do you know how to start a man's heart with a downed power line?

Bobby: No.

Hank : Well, there's really no wrong way to do it.

I vote for chili, no beans. 🙂

Good morning.

It's supposed to be 65 degrees today so you know what that means, I'm still not wearing pants.

I'm with Penny, I vote for chili, and you can put beans in it if you want to. I like it with or without.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Hi there! My little rider mower quit mowing. My friend how fixed it before and found a broken cable. He called me to say he ordered a new one for 13.50$. He looked at the Cub Cadet price and found it was 40$!
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Linda - trick or treating here starts once it gets dark - which is right about 6~ish - and goes roughly to 8-8:30~ish. We have no age rule, and I'm fine with teens being "kids" as long as they want. Just curious, if you are not giving out treats this year, do you just not turn on a porch light? I've never not participated, so I'm not sure what the protocol is...

As to the Gumbo vs Chili question...
I'm with Penny and Larry as a vote for chili, and beans are fine, as long as there is also MEAT!
