What a wasted day. They power washed 3 buildings today and mine was last, they didn't start until almost 2:30. If I had known it would be that late I would have gone grocery shopping before I did laundry. And like a doofus, I forgot to take my welcome mat inside last night so now it's soaked. I think I'll have a beer.
I hope my fellow former Long Islander has a quick and uneventful recovery.Caribbean Soul wrote: December 10, 2025 4:19 pm Perfect thread title for me today...

Thanks all for your good wishes...
Jim's procedure went fine. He was all set to be released and I was at his bed in the recovery room...
When I briefly passed out.
So I am typing this from the ER where they sent me for tests and they got him a room for the night.
Never a dull moment.

Ohhhh Noooo!!
At least you were in a hospital!
Was it lack of rest or food or water?? (But glad his procedure went well).

Since all test results have been normal I assume that you nailed the cause, which was my own self-diagnosis as well.SMLCHNG wrote: December 10, 2025 6:48 pm Ohhhh Noooo!!At least you were in a hospital!

I'm in a hotel across the street, because an hour drive at night in the rain alone was *not* happening! Especially having to come right back mañana!

Re: Everybody’s on the Phone Wednesday @ the MSC
Got a message about 2 hours ago from my sister. Her husband, Wayne, passed away at home.
He was in the hospital last month for 10 days with intense pain and weight loss. The doctors
found a mass on his right lung that was so big it was cracking his ribs. They couldn't decide if it was
mesothelioma or small cell cancer. They sent him home 10 days ago. I think they decided he would not
survive the surgery. Sunday the 7th they were visited by Hospice. He new his time was short.
Yesterday my sister had a doctor appointment and needed to run some errands so I visited with him
for a few hours. Every time he got off the chair I would either follow him around to make sure he was
alright or I'd be looking around the corner. He put his hand on my arm and told me to "relax".
He was a few months older than me and had been with my sister, Cindy, about 40 years.
Sail on, Wayne.

The answer to both of your questions is actually the same - YES!
We did make the morning drive because the arrival time was reasonable so we did not need to get on the road until 7:15~ish...
HOWEVER, last night I got a room there after being released from the ER, while Jim was given a room at UMASS. It sure beat driving late at night to get home, only to head back today to get him upon discharge!
