Christmas Return FRIDAY @ the MSC
Good Morning Gang.
I remember when the stores used to be packed day after with folks doing their returns of gifts that don’t fit or were just flat out duds in the eye of the receiver.
Now that we’re in the age of the online purchases & the popularity of gift cards I suspect lines at the stores aren’t as crazy as once upon a time.
Freezing rain advisory with potential power outages in mid Michigan for us this morning so gonna hunker down until it passes and we see what it leaves behind. Fingers crossed it’s not a mess .
Enjoy your 26th day of December everyone

Re: Christmas Return FRIDAY @ the MSC
Morning, Ken and others who saunter through.
I am typically an after Christmas shopper to pick up ribbon and wrapping paper, but today I am staying in because of the ice. Not a big fan of skating in roads with others in vehicles. We have a family get together at noon—wouldn’t be sad if they held off a day. Lounging in jammies and watching tv seems like a great way to spend the day.
Stay safe, all.

Good morning Mel and Ken.
Just going to do some blogging today. It's 14 degrees outside, so I'm staying in as well
The high is supposed to be 23.
Have a great Friday, everyone

Good morning Mel, Ken, and Jerry!
Stoopid dreams overnight, so I didn't get much rest. I already took down the few decorations around the TV/Fireplace. Tree is still there, but I don't feel like digging the tubs out of the storeroom at the moment, maybe later. The tree is one that is pre-lit, and several lights are out, so it's going in the trash once I get the ornaments off of it. And that's okay, I'll probably need a smaller one for next year.
Watching some movies today, most all that I've seen before. That way I can do other things and not have to worry about missing a scene.
Might go through a few more things on E's desk today, but not sure if I really feel like it.
Hope you all have a nice Friday!

Good morning.
When I come to Las Vegas I always keep my gambling money separate from my spending money. I'm prepared to lose it all (most times I do), and I stop gambling when the stash is gone. I only play slot machine, never any table games. I got here late Monday afternoon and my gambling money was gone by Wednesday night. Late last night I was walking through the casino on my way to the elevator and for some reason I decided to stop at a slot machine. High roller that I am it was a penny machine. I slid a $20 bill into the machine. I had a few winning spins and a few losers, then I won 8 free spins. During the freebies I won 5 more free spins, then another 5 after that. Almost every one of the free spins was a winner. After the last free spin my $20 opening balance was now up to $130.80. I cashed out and went to the cashier as fast as my old legs could get me there.
I'm checking out today but my flight isn't until 10:30 tonight so I get another day in Vegas without having to pay for the hotel but I'm done gambling for this trip. I have another gift card for the Yard House so maybe I'll go there for lunch and sample another one or two of their 100+ beers. I'm sure I can find something that isn't distributed back home. Or maybe I'll go to Parry's Pizzeria & Taphouse. They have a pretty good beer selection and they share a space with What-a-Burger so I can have a burger and a beer.

I knew I forgot something. The guy who was dipping snuff at the bar yesterday was from Sweden. He spoke better English than a lot of Americans. He looked at the beer list, the place has about 40 beers on tap, and said he was disappointed they didn't have his favorite American beer. Pabst Blue Ribbon

Well done on the win, Larry! So many people keep on playing, rather than quitting while they're ahead.
Enjoy the food and beers, and hope the trip home goes well.

Hello Everybody!
Our lasagna Christmas Dinner with the neighbors was great. A guy we never met (who was invited by a friend) showed up unexpectedly so we just grabbed a folding chair and got a little cozier. Lot of stories & laughter.
I didn't sleep well last night and today both of my wrists hurt. Yesterday is was more my hips. I guess the joints are not happy with the infusion liquid but that is a side effect.
It's 59 here right now - yesterday was in the mid-70's.
Our kids went together and got us an electronic "photo album" that they loaded with their family pics -- LOVE IT !!
We we planned to go to the beach but the sky is getting cloudier so we will see what tomorrow brings.
I've got no set plans.
Enjoy your day

Hi there! We are trapped here with ice covered roads. I love 2 songs I heard on RM that I listen to on youtube, Island Time by Simlified and Don't turn Around by Aswad.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

I just took down our Christmas tree, and threw it away. Some of the lights (pre-lit) weren't working. I have all of the ornaments and garland are in tubs. And I took it up to the dumpster. Ran the vacuum put the chair back, along with a plant stand. Hard to do, but necessary for my sanity.

I can be terrible about pitching some things. For awhile I kept a couple strands of lights even though a section wouldn't work anymore.SMLCHNG wrote: December 26, 2025 2:28 pm I just took down our Christmas tree, and threw it away. I'd just wrap the tree so the non working ones were at the back. I thought they were cool lights & that style wasn't available anymore.
But.....after a few years the hoarder in me relented & I trashed them

Re: Christmas Return FRIDAY @ the MSC
Two years in a row Nine Fine Irishmen in the New York, New York casino has been closed the week of Christmas. Very disappointed, it's a great Irish pub.
When I checked out of the hotel I told the desk clerk I wanted to apply my Caesars Rewards credits to the bill. I had 5436 credits, which equals $54.36. He told me what the bill was before applying the credits. The final bill was $69 less than it should have been. I looked at the itemized bill and for some reason they comped 3 of the 4 nights. I'm not a high roller so they lost money on me this week. Oh well.

I just walked by a place on the Strip with a sign out front - 2026 New Year's Eve, December 31. On my calendar December 31 is still 2025.
