Barometer Soup SUNDAY @ the MSC
Good morning BN. I like the song and I like soup. Our little church has soup and sandwiches this week through New Year's Eve. I'm looking forward to a beer and pizza soon.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Barometer Soup SUNDAY @ the MSC
GOOD MORNING FOLKS!!!
2025 is closing down with this last Sunday of the year.
We'll head to church at 10:30 and then we have nothing scheduled. I'm not sure what we'll do but most of it will depend on the weather. If we go to the beach it will probably be a long pants/long sleeve shirt visit.
I'll soon start the removal of the Christmas decorations - which makes the house look very bare
. It also means a deep clean since there will be lots of exposed space.
Our HOA Board has changed some of our Architectural Guidelines which now allow us (the Single Family Homes) to have a raised garden bed in our backyard. But there's a $50 filing/review fee so I need to figure out if that's worth it. I guess since it's a once & done fee it's not too bad. For now the 2 remaining large community bed areas will stay as they are but there has been A LOT of murmurings through the community about what to do with those spaces if they don't get used anymore. Our Land Development Plan contains a formula for required "green space" so we can't just pave over it. People don't understand that and are voicing opinions for a basketball/pickleball court, kids splash pad, etc. Those will never be approved by the County. Anywhooooooo.....
Have a great Sunday.

Good morning Bill and Linda!
(Linda, I merged your post with Bill's, 6 minutes earlier)
Linda, your housing rules and fuss would make me crazy.
Hope it all works out the way you want it.
I like the song too, Bill.
I'd like a beer and pizza with you!
And thank you for your card.
It's snowed overnight. And it finally got cold at 13 degrees. Glad I don't have to go anywhere.
But I'll be working on E's Obituary, which I'll be merging with the Oklahoma family, so we can come up with one single one.
Have a good Sunday!

Re: Barometer Soup SUNDAY @ the MSC
Hi everyone!!!
Barometer Soup is one of my favorite albums. Remittance Man is a top five song for me.
Gloomy and warmish in Michigan. They say we could get over an inch of rain today and high winds. Debating taking down the outside wreaths just to avoid having to pick up the scattered pieces later.
I agree with Penny about the HOA stuff. I love that my subdivision does not have one, although it would be nice to have some sort of authority over a few houses that could use a dumpster to clean up around them. But, I am sure there are things about my house that bother others, so I am fine letting that stuff go. (Kinda)
So when are we all meeting for pizza and beer? That would be a lot of fun!!!

Good morning Bill, Linda, Penny, Mel, and whoever visits.
Love the title...I think 'Diamond as big as the Ritz' is one of my favorites on that album. I am lucky to live in a neighborhood without an HOA. Anyways, I think more blogging is in order for me. Crushing loss for the Bruins last night. I still wear the hat since they're not too bad, but it's also the only hat I own
Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone

Good morning.
The traveling caught up to me, I didn't wake up until after 9:00 this morning.
There was a guy at the hockey game Tuesday wearing a Golden Knights jersey, #51. Instead of a name on the back it said AREA. He's Area 51.
Netflix has a restaurant in the MGM Grand, it's called Netflix Bites. I didn't eat there.
The sports and entertainment memorabilia store where I got Pete Rose's autograph a few years ago closed, it's a cosmetics store now.
There's a new place outside the Horseshoe called Bottled Blonde. They have a house beer called Bottled Blonde. The day I was there they didn't have the house beer but they had a hostess who looked like a younger version of the actress Sarah Shahi, who I really liked in the old TV show Person Of Interest.

Back from church, lunch eaten and not much else going on since it's dreary outside.
I think I'll sit down and put some heat on both hands.
I'll go around and take pics of all the Christmas decorations and then upload them onto the Walgreens photo center for printing. I do that with every holiday so I don't drive myself crazy trying to figure out where all the stuff goes.

Re: Barometer Soup SUNDAY @ the MSC
Hi again, Kids!!
Snagged some after Christmas bargains, including a new tree for the front room for next year. The tropical ornaments have outgrown the tree I have, and I have been wanting a larger tree for a while. Was lazy for a bit but finally went outside and took down the outdoor decorations as they are saying we are under a high wind warning starting at midnight. Really didn’t want to chase lights and wreaths when they went visiting
We are getting pouring rain and sometimes thunder. I guess it will get colder tomorrow so we might have wind and snow/ice. Oh goodie.
I think an adult beverage is in order to celebrate getting outside decorations down and laundry put away. No wonder I am tired.

Well, I'll join you both in an adult beverage... but in a few hours.
I just finished writing my portion of E's obituary. And I cleaned up some more STUFF on his desk. I still have SO many books to get rid of and drawers and drawers of wires/cords for who knows what they belong to.

Evening all!
I love the title! Barometer Soup is one of my favorite albums, probably right behind A1A. All the songs are excellent and I love the story of how JB gathered the band together in the keys to write it!
I am also very glad to NOT have an HOA for our neighborhood, which makes sense considering we only have 40 houses here.

Sooo, E had so many things in his name. One of the most important was for "Total Wine and Liquor"... sometimes it was for pick up or delivery, so tonight I made my own account, and will have a delivery tomorrow.
I'll ask someone via email if I can add his points to my new account.

Good Evening!! My Buffett infatuation began mostly due to listening to the live albums & the BBB box set, but not too familiar with the pre 2000 studio albums. I posed the question for suggestion from the board here for a strong album & I recall Garry citing Barometer Soup. Man, fell in love with it right from the start!

Cheers to you
