Mailbox Money Monday @ the MSC

Post by SMLCHNG »

Good morning!

Just thought last night that I have to do our taxes (with help from an accountant) alone this year. Hope whatever accounts E had mails their tax statements.

And waiting patiently for his insurance stuff to pay off.

Not loving this...

Hope YOU have a good Monday!! :D

So sorry you are going through all of this alone, Penny. FWIW you might be able to look at past year’s tax forms and get a list of accounts that would be sending end of year statements. You should be able to contact them and send a death certificate to get whatever you need. Your accountant might be able to help in this process, too.

I remember being overwhelmed when my dad died, but luckily he left me lists and was super organized. It helped with the process but not the heat ache.

More love to you. (((Penny)))

Snowy and blowy here in Michigan. Heading out in a bit to the dentist (using up 2025 benefits so I can delay the deductible in 2026!)

Need to drop off a return to the UPS store on the way. Then I think it will be a day inside to start the de-Christmas activities. Or maybe a nap. We will see how I feel when I get home.
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

GREAT ideas there, Mel!! I was mostly thinking his job would send the W4 only via work emails. And I don't have the death certificate YET. Lots of steps and paperwork to go through. I do have copies (online) of last years taxes.. thanks for the brain cells, of which mine are lacking. ;) [smilie=hearts.gif]

Larry, you can appreciate this - I opened a new Total Wine account in my name and placed a delivery order today. I just called Total, and they merged E's points to my account. :)

Good afternoon…..not sure where the hours from 7:30 when I woke up until now have gone.

Kevin brought all the empty Christmas boxes/totes in for the garage and helped gather the outside lights and holiday flags.

It was sunny then cloudy then raining then sunny now cloudy and cooler.

I spoke with the infusion nurse as my right wrist is swollen (not the current surgery one) to see if my joint aches and the swelling should be happening. I’ve taken 1000mg pretty every 4 hrs (except during the night) since Tuesdays infusion. Nurse has no idea why my hands are hurting so much. My current temp is 98.8 which is fine. She said call pcp. I said that won’t work since all calls go to the call center who then sends a message to the dr. She said she would try. She called me 40 mins ago to say his office would call me to schedule an appt to see him.

Nothing yet but he told her to tell me to take 4,0000 mg of Tylenol a day. Duh…..already doing that.

Mrs Rabz (Toni) bought me a coloured vinyl copy of "Songs you know by heart" and a CD of "Equal strain on all parts" for Christmas.

We had resisted buying Equal Strain due to the proximity of it's release to Jimmy's passing but Toni felt it was time.

Early next year we are planning a long overdue Pacific island jaunt to just get some island time. (We're going to a small island in Fiji we have not been to before). I think I will wait until we are sitting by the sand, in the shade with an appropriate adult beverage before I listen to Jimmy's final album.

It just seems fitting.

YAY!! I should have read today's before my reply on yesterday's thread!
So glad TW is a reasonable and compassionate business!

As to all the other things... it will all be settled in time. Your accountant will be invaluable with those taxes. Can I assume he/she is who you guys used in previous years? Knowledge of your past taxes should make things smoother.
And I hope you obtain those DCs soon... they are needed by so many "entitites" :-? What is the holdup? I've only had this experience in NY, but there we were given them by the funeral director before each of mine & Jim's parents were even buried as it was a service provided by the mortuary.

Linda - I am sorry your hands/wrists are still in so much pain. Glad someone was able to cut through the red tape and contact your PCP's office.

Jerry - yes... dreary is right... But if all this rain had been snow, it would have been crazy!!

Rabbitz - that sounds like an awesome plan and a fitting tribute!

Yes, this is an accountant we've been using about 5 years now, so that's good. The DC's are issued by the Mortuary, and I'm not meeting them until Friday. I may have them then.

Good! Yes that should really help!

Well, that makes sense then!
