Roll With The Punches Thursday @ the MSC

Post by SMLCHNG »

Good morning BN! :)

Couldn't sleep this morning, so I was up around 4:30. :-?

Got the dogs fed, and just noticed it snowed a little last night.

My sister's cleaning ladies are coming today, so I'll have to be scarce when they're in different parts of the house.

Phone call with my accountant to try and get my login changed from E's to mine. Tried before, and it was my Mom's account that they tried to fix.

Have a good Thursday! :)

Dreary and foggy here today. I'm working today and waiting for the phone call to get the time for my outpatient surgery procedure tomorrow.
Bryan's back pain is steadily getting better which is great 😃
Have a great Thursday everyone.

Good luck with the account login issues, Penny 😃

Hello Everyone!

I FINALLY got some answers yesterday about my ulnar nerve -- now I know why everything I was trying didn't work. I have a pinched nerve in my left elbow on the lower side. Next up - back to neurosurgeon on the 27th. Surgery is the only remedy. It will be my 3rd "nerve decompression". I already had both forearms done. It's mostly the same thing. "You have very small joints with not enough room for things to move smoothly".

I'll be heading out soon to food shop. Then afternoon chair yoga.

What a pain, Linda!... both figuratively and literally! I had a severed ulnar nerve way back in 1979. One day at work I hit my elbow on the corner of my desk and had the "ooh, I hit my funny bone sensation" and then after the tingling stopped, my pinkie finger and the outer half of my ring finger were numb. When they were still numb after a few days, I went to the doctor and It turned out that the nerve was severed in my elbow. The doctor said it would probably grow back, at the rate of a few millimeters per day. Other than the numbness, the only symptom was that I didn't have as much grasping strength in my left hand (and I'm left handed), so that was a problem. One day, a couple of years later, just all of a sudden I realized that my fingers weren't numb anymore. I'm not sure how long they'd been better, they just were.
The only pain I had was with paperwork; wheen I told the doctor that it happened at work, he put it down as an "on the job injury" and the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries got involved. This was before we all had computers and emails and such, and monthly I got a letter from the state with forms I had to fill out to report my recovery status.

And learn to trust your intuition
Plowin’ straight ahead come what may.

Good afternoon. It was raining earlier but it's starting to clear up now.

The U.S. women's hockey team plays Canada for the Gold Medal this afternoon. So far the U.S. is 6-0 in the Olympics and has outscored their opponents 31-1. The one goal was in the second period of the first game so they've had 5 consecutive shutouts. I know nothing about women's hockey but maybe I'll watch the game to see if they win the Gold Medal.

I'd like to have the surgery scheduled ASAP -- I don't' want a recovery during the "good weather" (aka beach & pool time).

Been busy watching hockey! :D
As Larry said, the US Women's team has romped through their previous games, including a 5-0 rout of Canada in the preliminaries... but this one was a nail-biter! :o It was 1-0 Canada until the final 2 minutes of regulation when the US captain, Hillary Knight, scored the equalizer! Then, at 4:07 into the OT, they WON with a goal by a former Boston College and current Boston Fleet player, Megan Keller!

And now back to our regular programming...

Penny- hopefully they fix your log-in on the RIGHT account this time!

Linda - well no wonder all those wrist treatments did nothing... sorry you need surgery, but at least they finally discovered the answer to your pain, and more importantly, it is fixable!

Tammy - good luck with your surgery mañana and glad to read that Bryan's back is improving!

Mr. SPH - my thanks for another excellent video,

And Hillary Knight plays for the Seattle Torrent....

Knight was one of four Torrent players playing for Team USA. Knight, the Torrent and Team USA captain, was playing in her fifth and final Olympics. Her game-tying goal was the 15th goal of her Olympic career, the most ever by a U.S. woman.

:D They did. The guy had me on the phone for 20 minutes, and he got it fixed!! :D And because I don't have a scanner at home (and either E or I would scan to email from work), he offered to pick up anything I had for filing our taxes. Great service.

Forgot all about the woman's hockey final, but I watched the highlights. GREAT scoring!! :D :D

The shop has been absolutely crazy even after Valentine's Day. We've had back to back funerals all week and we had a huge one for a 24 year old guy who left a young daughter and a pregnant wife. (Motorcycle accident), tomorrow there are 3 more and then 5 yes 5 on Saturday. I'm actually looking forward to having my surgery just so I can get some rest 🤣

Linda, it's little consolation that you have been there and done that before. It still sux.

YES! And her point total of 33 is number one as well!
Congrats to her and Olympic Speed Skater Brittany Bowe on their engagement, too! What an eventful Olympics for them!
