Pacing the Cage Wednesday @ the MSC

Post by SMLCHNG »

Good morning all!

I'm finally getting myself ready to go back home on Friday. It's been good here, but I'm actually ready to get taking care of the apartment again.

Hope you have a good Wednesday!! :)

Hank Hill : Just in case I'm incapacitated for some reason, do you know how to start a man's heart with a downed power line?

Bobby: No.

Hank : Well, there's really no wrong way to do it.

Good morning. It's a little warmer than the last couple of days, the temperature was above 40 degrees when I woke up this morning.

Now that the Olympics are over, the hockey season starts again tonight. Some NHL players were injured in the Olympics, one of them is going to be out for the rest of the season. I wonder if the owners are having second thoughts about letting the players go to the Olympics for the first time since 2014.

Good afternoon.

This morning was crazy. Lawn guy was coming at 9 to remove mulch and lay rock. But shortly after 8 the Curbscapes folks called to come today instead of tomorrow bc of pending rain. (The sealant needs 24 hrs to fully cure). But bc a neighbor 2 doors away was getting Curbscapes in March they wanted to see if they could install his today as well. (Save them a trip).

Curb people called and said neighbor is good so we’ll be there in 20 mins.

Called lawn guy. Can you come right now….. Nope. not enough time to remove mulch, take to dump, get stone and install.

So instead lawn guy came, helped us remove the regular landscape block edging we had and then pushed mulch out of the way. He’ll come back another day when there’s no chance of rain.

Shessshhhh. I’m exhausted. And bet you are too from reading this !

Have a great rest of the last Wednesday of February.

I'm thinking yes... I actually had to look up who was hurt, one was a former Avalanche player.

Hello all! Cannot believe it is midweek already. The Great Defrosting starts today...it's finally starting to warm up. I recently got a new tub of coffee ice cream (comes with little chocolate chips/morsels in it :D )

Other than that, more writing! Space themed today since I've hit writer's block on my other chapter.

Have a great evening everyone :D :D
Jerry...from Massachusetts. I'd like to go where it's warm! :D

Kevin Fiala from the L.A. Kings is the one who's out for the season. They took him off the ice on a stretcher with an air cast on his left leg. Hockey teams usually only say players have upper body or lower body injuries. He probably has a broken leg.

Hi there! My therapist was wicked cruel today, pushing on me knee to where I almost yelled in pain. I rode an exercise bike and halfway through my time, I went to reverse pedal and thought I would pass out from that move. The knee did not like that move.

Well the curbscaping looks awesome but the lawn guy has to wait 30 days for curing JUST IN CASE he uses a wheelbarrow to dump the stone. If it scraps it might damage the work. So we decided we’ll let the mulch there now to “raise up” the old bed since the new curbing is higher than the blocks were.

We will smooth out the old mulch and then Adam will put a new barrier on top with the stones over that.

My head hurts. (But I don’t think my feet stink)

Evening BNers!

Linda - your curb/stone/mulch/lawn tale just made me laugh! My chore for the day was shoveling a 40-foot-long path through 2 feet of snow from the garage end of our driveway back to our oil fill pipe... Fun! Fun! Fun!

Penny - I'm sure you will be fully energized to purge again once you get home after your break. Just be careful not to overdo it!

Larry - I was wondering who was out for the duration, until you mentioned the aircast thing. I remembered one of the Swiss team being stretchered off the ice; I forgot he played for the Kings. I'm sure the Penguins are not pleased that Sid-the-kid (who is really too old for that nickname now  ) will be out 4 weeks! It will be interesting to see what happens in 4 years.

Mr. SPH - nice selection of Cockburn there... THANKS!

Bill - sorry you are going through this... I hope the pain abates soon!

Jerry - Mother Nature had to throw another couple of inches at us before warming up tho... she is definitely off her meds! :x

Wow! That is a lot of shoveling, Elaine. Anne is allowed to help me when it's fluffy and under 4 inches.

Hi Kids! Was looking at FB Marketplace and there is an estate sale Friday near me that has some older JB stuff—like Caribbean Soul posters and a flag. I messaged the person who posted it and asked to buy the lot. I can’t get out of work when the sale starts, so I am hoping she takes pity on me and lets me buy it. I will kee you posted on how it goes.

Linda, it kind of sounds like the change in schedule may work in your favor— I like when things like that happen. Bill, sorry PT is rough. I hope things get better soon.

Others, I hope your days went well.
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

For the past few years, Mrs Rabz and I have lived in what is arguably Australia's premier red wine producing area (Barossa Valley, South Australia).

My favourite, out of the 65+ cellar doors we have visited here (there are around 80), is from a smaller family winery in our village. We can literally walk to their cellar door and it is less than a five minute drive to the vineyard.

Today, I received an email from them with the following:
"Kalleske Old Vine Grenache was honoured in The Vinous Top 100 World Wines of 2024. Founded in 2013 by Antonio Galloni, former critic for Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, Vinous has become one of the world’s most respected wine platforms.

In 2024, their expert reviewers evaluated over 35,000 wines, and not only did the Old Vine Grenache stand out as Australia’s best, but it was also crowned the world’s finest Grenache.".

My favourite and goto wine. I knew I was on to a good thing...

By the way, I have no idea how you taste 35,000 wines but I am willing to try!

LOL! Jim is only allowed to help ME in the same conditions!
We do have a plow guy for the driveway who also shovels our stoop and walkway. I do the deck, and if the snow is deep (like it was) a path to our oil fill, which is required to get a delivery!
