I Never Forget to Duck Thursday @ the MSC

Post by SMLCHNG »

Good morning!

Yesterday was another super windy day here, fueled some grass fires in the area.

Today I'm starting to put final touches around here. A little picking up, cleaning, vacuuming, feeding bird feeders, picking up poop.

Today Cameron turns 43, how is that possible?? :D

Have a good Thursday! :D

Good morning Penny and Janice.

There were 2 hockey games on TV last night, the second one was the Vegas Golden Knights against the L.A. Kings. Vegas has 3 players who were on the Canadian Olympic team and 2 others who were on the U.S. team. None of them played last night. I missed the beginning of the game so if the announcers said why they were out I didn't hear the explanation. They have another player who was on Czechia's Olympic team and he played last night. Good afternoon!

We had a little rain overnight but it didn’t affect our new curbing. I staved some of the former cement edging blocks around the crepe Myrtle tree and a small flower bed in the back yard. It gives a more polished look and will keep the stones ( that are coming in a month) where they belong.

Our community was advised of an HOA board member who has stepped down so they are seeking applicants to till that spot for the rest of the year. I thought about it for a hot second since it’s a short term. That was until the management company said the board votes vs the homeowners. There is one guy on the board that would definitely NOT vote for me. 2 that would. I’m not sure about the other one. IF the outgoing board member gets a vote that’s another one that I’m not sure of. So I think I’ve made the decision to not bother.

Off to book bingo and chair yoga.

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Hi there! We got out of town and ate with friends on a beautiful day. My leg is icing after a mishap, but should get better.

Put Kevin on the board, Linda, then you can be the power behind the thrown. :D

LOVE pickles, but only dill, not sweet or bread/butter. I had a nickname of Pickles in school, cause Mom always put a pickle in my lunch. :D

I went to one of our local craft brewers for lunch today. For about the first 1/2 hour I was there I was the only one at the bar. The bartender was very chatty, and very attractive. I wish I was about 40 years younger.

I always have a jar of pickles in the fridge. Sandwiches, burgers, anything else they're good with. But like you, only dill pickles.

I was doing some shallow squats on my deck with a grip on my railing. The hand rail was just a horizontal 2x4. After a party I thought it would be nice to be able to put a beer mug on it so I screwed a 1x6 on top of the old railing. I gripped my fingers around the overhang as I did the squat. This railing is over 40 years old and back then arsenic was used in the wood treatment which ate through the screws holding the railing down. As I went down, the board popped loose. Bracing against the fall sent a shock of pain through my knee.

I guess one could say this incident was caused by drinking.

Yes, the knee is better, but my left shoulder is aggravated from the cane use. I hurt it 3 months ago and it still has not healed.

Well, at least the knee is okay. My left shoulder has been bother me for several months, and I have no idea why. Can't lift it above my shoulder. Did the heat/ice, repeat. I'm seeing my doc in a few weeks, and we'll go from there.

Evening all!

Rabbitz - very cool about your close-by - and favorite - winery getting such wonderful recognition! :D

Penny - I don't think of fire being a danger in CO in February! :o I wish I could send you some of our snow!

Bill - OUCH!! :( Hopefully the ice will help your knee!

Larry - So they never said anything about the missing players? How odd, aren't scratches usually explained?

Linda - I think you made the right choice. I have never heard anything good said about HOA boards! Best to stay off them!

I like your thinking about Kevin Says. 🤣 sounds win-win to me.

Sounds like everyone has had a fairly good day. I have had a fantastic end to the day as I got to the estate sale and hit the motherload of Buffett stuph. Come to find out the guy was a Parrothead like us and loved the Caribbean Soul shirts—had over 20 of them that were brand new looking! I picked up about 5 f them along with three Caribbean Soul posters still in the plastic container rolls. Five or so 45 singles, various calendars and sing books. Sooooooo much stuff it was almost overwhelming.

The guy’s name was (I guess still is…) Doug. If you are so inclined, raise a glass in his memory. He sounds like he was a really cool guy. 💕🌴🦩🦈🏴‍☠️🫧💕
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

I was watching something else and forgot about the game. By time I changed the channel it was halfway through the first period so if they said anything I missed it.
