Nobody Works On FRIDAY@ the MSC
Good morning BN. I heard this song today and realized it's a great title,
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Re: Nobody Works On FRIDAY@ the MSC
Good morning Bill and BN!
So I'm sitting here in tears (happy ones) watching the replay of DU winning in double OT.
(Sorry to my Michigan friends/fans). E would have been SO happy. Sigh.
I need to run to the store for more bubble wrap. It dawned on my yesterday that I don't have enough to pack kitchen dishes and some more glasses.. I'll start packing more of my clothes and kitchen stuff today.
Have a good Friday!!

Good morning Bill and Penny.
I forgot to mention this when I was at the brewery yesterday. Besides Fertile Myrtle they have another beer called First Rodeo. Of course I had to have one. Now if I ever have it again I can say "this is not my first rodeo".

Helllooooo !
Beautiful day here in Myrtle Beach.
We're (well, Kevin is doing it alone -- so far) putting a keyless entry lock on our front door. So much easier than have to carry/use another key.
Other than that we have nothing scheduled until I head out at 7pm to go "across the pond" for a ladies' night. Just a few of us sitting around talking, laughing & drinking whatever we want
.
Enjoy your day.

Re: Nobody Works On FRIDAY@ the MSC
As many of us here are retired, it seem's like nobody works on any day.
Well, not work work, anyway; I get tired just reading about whatever Linda!Linda!Linda! and Penny have slated for the day.....
Not gonna find a live version of this one...

If you have it again, wouldn't it be "this in not my first First Rodeo" and every time you have one it would be "this is my First Rodeo"?LIPH wrote: I forgot to mention this when I was at the brewery yesterday. Re: Nobody Works On FRIDAY@ the MSC
Hi there! I visited with our retired football coach. He was once called to the superintendeHnt's office for yelling at the new woman principal. He told the head guy he wasn't using his outside or even his inside voice. He is just really loud. Soon after that the principal came in the gym as he laid into a kid. The coach retired that year and the principal avoided him.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Well, I started taking some things down from the kitchen cabinets, then it was time to run to Home Depot. Cameron hurt his back yesterday, so he was home, and Sarah was home as she had day #2 of a migraine. So I picked up a few things for them at the grocery store. Then to Home Depot, then gas in my car.SeattleParrotHead wrote: April 10, 2026 12:38 pm Well, not work work, anyway; I get tired just reading about whatever Linda!Linda!Linda! and Penny have slated for the day.....
When I was getting gas, the store Manager (Dennis) was there and he asked me to let him know this week what I want (food wise) from the store and for how many. I just said finger foods, and probably for ?? people. I'll let him know this week. Still SO NICE of them to provide the food for E's Celebration of Life party.

Re: Nobody Works On FRIDAY@ the MSC
Soooo, one of my former DIRECTV co-workers started his own travel business (he booked the one that E and I took last year out of Galveston).. There's a cruise out of Port Canaveral this December. He's one of my favorite friends. Years ago, when I still worked there, he lost his son to SIDS. He says he will always remember the silent hug I gave him when he returned to work.
Anywho, I'm going to go. I'll be at sea on the 1 year anniversary of E's passing. I think he'd approve. And there will be other former co-workers going, too. It's a week's cruise. $1500 for a studio room WITH a balcony. (I've seen videos of the room, and it's plenty of space for me.
)
Ship: MSC Grandiosa
Departure Port: Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida
Travel Dates: December 19, 2026 – December 26, 2026
Finally, I'll have SOMETHING to look forward to!!

Yep! His voice is also gravely. He is assisting at his son's high school team and has coached 47 years! The guy loves football.

My 1st wedding anniversary after Carol passed I “Got Lost” in Key West for a long weekend. That worked for me. Sounds like this trip will work for you
