I've been off the radar for awhile but things are finally starting to move forward with my dad's estate. The house, vehicles and boats are listed for auction and they are working on staging the rest of the household items for auction too. The 16th was the last day that my deceased brothers children had to try to challenge me as administrator so we have the green light to get things listed. Bidding will be for 30 days and then the high bidder has an additional 30 days to pony up the cash.

On a more personal note my troubled middle daughter is still not speaking to me ( since Labor Day 2025) and as much as it breaks my heart, it's honestly easier than dealing with her drama and chaos. 😭
Hope everyone is doing well.

Holy moly!!!

4:30 EST and I’m only the 3rd MSC patron.

It’s hot here ! I took a long walk around the neighborhood and that’s all I’ve done today. Well I made the bed and had breakfast and lunch but that doesn’t really count for much.

We have nothing on our schedule. Not even a beach trip bc it’s the weekend. If we don’t go early, like by 10:30, it will be very crowded…we saw all the RVs coming in when we left yesterday.

It’s a drag that our community pool still can’t open but we’ll have many chances.

Nice to see you Tammy. I’m glad you are making progress on your dad’s estate. Hopefully it will all be concluded quickly.

I’m sorry about your daughter. But as we’ve talked in the past, sometimes this is a good thing and prayers are being sent for a resolution at the best time for all of you.

Good afternoon.

The Stanley Cup playoffs start today, the Hurricanes first game started at 3:00. I set the DVR to record the game, I think it's safe to start watching now, I have enough leeway to be able to fast forward through the commercials and intermissions.

Hey all!

Favorite show airs tonight, this time with 5 guests...I hope the regular guy is actually hosting. In Other News: I sent a text to David, my neighbor, asking to help me carry something around 6pm. Once he's here, I'm inviting him in for dinner with the family since his birthday was yesterday :D :D
Jerry...from Massachusetts. I'd like to go where it's warm! :D

Well. That's it. Sunday is officially ruined.

I got up a little early to sort some things out before the busy day ahead (puppy school, Lord help me).

Fired up the coffee machine and looked in the fridge - low on milk. No probs—that's why we have "emergency" UHT milk in the pantry.

Grabbed a carton and made coffee. Something was not quite right. The milk didn't texture very well and the coffee had an odd sort of taste. Not bad but different. I checked the date on the milk, all good.

Then I realised the true horror. I accidentality grabbed a carton of Lactose Free Milk! Quelle Horreur!

I think the root cause here is a Catch 22. I looked in the pantry before I had my coffee. But I couldn't have my coffee before looking in the pantry.

This was always going to end badly.

Good afternoon/evening!! I am officially MOVED!!!!! :D Moving company showed up on time at 9:00am, I had 8 people from E's work show up to help and we were packed and unpacked by 11:30. Nothing broken, and everyone moved fast. Now I get to find everything I packed. Can't find a few things, cause I can't remember what I put them in - a box or a bag? Either way, I get to sleep here tonight, hopefully not running into walls and doors if I wake up in the middle of the night! :D

For the most part, it sounds like it has been a pretty good day for everyone. That makes me happy to hear the estate is moving forward, Tammy. I am so sorry about your relationship with your daughter, and I agree with Linda’s hope that things resolve as well as can be expected.

Penny, I am glad your move went well! FWIW, I have a few boxes from my move seven years ago that I have yet to go through. No idea what is inside, and I am not missing any of it 😆

Rabs, sorry about your not expected coffee. That is always the worst. I made a stop at the grocery store yesterday to pick up milk because I couldn’t start today with plain ole black coffee.

Bill, I am so glad Mac was amazing! I would like to see him again as his stories and talent are worth the price of admission.
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

Wow! Slow day at the Café!

Penny - How nice of E's coworkers to help you move today! Many hands make for lighter work!
I bet it is SUCH a relief that the whole ordeal is in the past! Just be careful wandering around at night!!

Tammy - And it sounds like your lengthy estate process is FINALLY winding down! Sorry about your middle-daughter issues, though... I hope she will eventually come around...

Bill - glad you enjoyed Mac - go figure! :D

Jerry - what a nice thing to do for your neighbor!

Larry - Enjoy the second season I haven't even looked at who is playing whom since the Islanders are not in it. I'm sure I can find some team to root for - and thereby crush their chances!

Rabbitz - Look at it this way... the day only got better, right! Hopefully, Monday's coffee is more to your liking!

Linda - enjoy the slow Saturday before the area gets inundated with tourists come next month!

Glad to hear that you had a good sized group that was willing to pitch in. Hope you enjoy your new place.
