"TUESDAY ON THE ISLAND" (or at the MSC)
Good Morning !
It's sunny, hot & humid right now but the humidity is already dropping as the temp goes up. I'll probably hang at the pool today unless Kevin wants to hit the beach since we haven't been there since Wednesday.
Our activity schedule for this week is minimal. I've got chair yoga 2 days with a book bingo session in there. The last Wed of the month our bible study group at church has a meal so there's that this week.
LOTS of community drama last night on our FB page due to fireworks going off. Kevin isn't on FB and I don't "follow" the page anymore but lots of friends texted and said "you've got to see this".
There are restrictions for time/place and these folks were "OK" with the law......but people (especially those with PTSI or pets) don't appreciate them (at least not without notice that they'll be going off). 2 homeowners/3 people got into it BIG TIME. It was funny for a minute but after more than 50 posts with numerous people chiming in, it got bad real fast. Page Admins finally blocked 1 from posting for 24 hrs and magically the other ones posts got deleted (assuming by the homeowner after a private warning since there was no mention of them being blocked).
And the beat goes on........

Good morning Linda and BN!
That online fuss reminds me of how I used to have to ban people on COBO and BN!!
But it was always things they were say and starting fights online.
Had a nice time with my sister and BIL yesterday. It's been awhile since we visited Mom & Dad.
Have a few errands to run - store, eye doc, bank. But that's it. Nothing to hang, thank goodness!
Have a good Tuesday!!

Good morning Linda and Penny.
The Hurricanes won last night, another overtime game. Five of their 11 playoff games have gone into overtime and they won all 5 of them, all by the score of 3-2. Two more wins and they advance to the Stanley Cup finals. That would mean another year without a Canadian team winning the Cup since they're playing Montreal. The 2 teams left in the Western Conference are both U.S. based.

Grey and rainy here.... nothing going on except for my six month dental checkup.
Tuesday on the island, not much goin' on
The parties are all over, they ended just past dawn
The jungle drums are beating with the tales from late last night
'Cause stories bear repeating for everyone's delight
I had a couple of Jimmy Buffett albums, but it was seeing "Live By the Bay" on my local PBS station that turned me into a Parrot Head.

Mine was just going to my first concert in 1996. It was an overwhelming (but in a good way) experience.SeattleParrotHead wrote: May 26, 2026 11:30 am I had a couple of Jimmy Buffett albums, but it was seeing "Live By the Bay" on my local PBS station that turned me into a Parrot Head.

Lousy vision! I wrote a check for a credit card through my bank and realized it was for more than a thousand dollars over the month's charges. Off th the bank to find out why. Two months ago wa s a big bill and I ignored the full amount and only paid 506$. The new bill included interest. That was the first time I remember paying credit card interest.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

That sure stinks Bill. I just got burned on a CC payment where I called in last Monday May 18 to make the payment....My bad, it was due Sunday May 17th. Of course I should have paid closer attention but I just had it in my head it would be due Monday, not during the weekend.
Now to turn your lemons into lemonade. Take your $1,000 CC credit & go invest in some kick new azz fishing gear

I went to one of our local breweries for lunch and had a juicy pulled pork sandwich and a couple of beers. The sandwich was good but it was messy, too much bbq sauce. The girl behind the bar was wearing a tank top with the brewer's logo on it. She had a tattoo between her boobs but I don't know what it was, I didn't want to stare.

Had long heard of the legendary multi night shows by Buffett & the CRB at Pine Knob, our "local" grade A Outdoor Amphitheater in the 80's & 90's,
but with no know Parrot Head Phiends in my circle never got the true concert/tailgate intel until I decided to take the deep concert dive & went first hand. At that point, phriends or no phriends be damned.....I'm going to the shows with or without!!

Bryan surprised me with a quick trip to NY to see the oldest daughter, SIL and grandkids! They made us grilled burgers for lunch and then we went to Lake Chatauqua and enjoyed watching ducks, the nice breeze and watching the water. We took everyone for ice cream
and now we're heading home. Hoping this traffic in Erie gets better fast!

Bummer, Bill. I hope you get that figured out!
Ken - I've never gone to a concert on my own. I went to Camden without E, but there were a LOT of BN'ers there, so I felt okay with that.
Larry, I think you should have asked her.
Glad you had such a good day, Tammy!!
My BIL sold one of E's guns for me, and my sister gave me the $ yesterday, so I ran to my bank to deposit it. (It was cash). Then I actually felt a little bit hungry so I treated myself to McDonalds. YUM. And I'm full. Stopped at my eye doc cause one of my new glasses had a small 'bubble' on the transitions 'film'.. he heated up the lens and pressed it back down. Looks great now! Then a stop at the grocery store for a few things, and said Hello to Cameron.
Came home and unloaded the dishwasher I ran this morning. And then I took furniture polish oil and cleaned/oiled all of the wood furniture. Tomorrow I'll polish the other stuff that doesn't require oil, and clean all the glass of pictures I hung.
Almost time for an adult beverage.

Today is World Redhead Day. Forty years ago when I worked at Chase Auto Finance there was a very attractive woman in the office with red hair and beautiful green eyes. One year somebody asked her if she wanted to play on the softball team, it was a coed league and you had to have at least one woman on the field. She said no because she didn't like to sweat. I told her she was no fun.

Linda- there was a total ruckas in one of our towns FB groups today... I need to go check back in to see what (if any) postings survived!
It was definitely popcorn-worthy reading this morning!
I felt like the permanent CoB,O referee between Sam and Dave, back in the day. I guess I did OK at it, because both of them claimed I was on the "other side."
Larry - I get that you were being polite...
BUT if she did not want people staring, she would not have a tattoo there, nor would she wear a shirt that left it visible.
As to hockey... I'm hoping the Habs can pull it out... fingers crossed!
