Is Everybody on the Phone WED @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Good Morning -- 8:30 and no one had opened the MSC yet...maybe busy talking on the phone (does anyone actually spend a lot of time doing that anymore?) :).

We have another hot day scheduled. The pool was beautiful yesterday and the "crowd" was 8 ladies scattered around it. I finally got in the water (up to my neck) and it felt really nice.

Kevin heads to Scott's house for their weekly "Breaking Bad" session. I'll head to the grocery store. I'll probably go to the pool since the only other thing we have is our church small group mtg at 6. The last Wednesday of each month we have a dinner. We've had food from several different local restaurants and every one has been really good.

A 3rd HOA Board member has resigned (the 3rd so far this (our 2nd) year). He submitted his resignation to the Mgmt company after the FB circus re fireworks. I am going to apply now since he's gone and since the term is only until the end of this year. The remaining folks are people I know and have never had issue with. We didn't originally with John but as he got more "power" he became obnoxious.

Enjoy your day everybody.

Still only just after 6:30am here. ;) I talk occasionally, but it is mostly texting.

Good luck on the voting!! I think you'd be good in the position. :)

Today is a not doing much day.. I may get my Windex out and clean the glass on the pictures I hung.

Am very sad the Avalanche lost... I'll root for the Hurricanes or Canadiens (more this one), an NOT Vegas. :(

We actually had a breakthrough here the other day, one of our she-'keets [smilie=battingeyes.gif] actually said "why don't I call you, it'll be esaier than texting." :o

Do you remember dialing up? Yes, I remember well
Now I just can't go anywhere without my sacred cell
I think that I might die if I miss anything at all
Text me, send an email, link me up, give me a call!
I'm ADD on AOL and trying to read the writing on the wall

I have some people that it's easier to call, but I usually use the speaker on my cell. :)

Good morning.

I had a couple of jobs back in my banking days that involved a lot of time on the phone. Because of that, I'm not much of a phone person.

During the hockey game last night they had an interesting piece of trivia. Only 2 teams that won the President's Trophy for having the best record in the regular season have been swept in 4 games in a playoff series. Colorado just got swept by Vegas and Tampa Bay was swept by Columbus in 2019. Vegas's coach is John Tortarella. Columbus's coach in 2019 was John Tortarella. Unrelated to that, but Tampa Bay won their first Stanley Cup in 2006. The coach was John Tortarella. I'm a nerd when it comes to stuff like that.

I had an early pedicure appointment and Bryan had another short appointment for a minor repair on his car. I went shopping for road trip snacks and then we met up at a local diner for a late breakfast. Then we went to the bank to see if there was another account of my dad's that was still active. It was not, but good to know.
We came home, I did a load of laundry and now we're getting ready to pack for the trip to Milton, Delaware.
Happy Hump 🐫🐪🐫🐪🐫🐪 Day!

Happy World Otter Day!

I must have been psychic when I got dressed this morning because my socks have otters on them...
And no, I did NOT know about the "official day" thing until I fired up my laptop and saw an otter in my search bar!

Other than that, nothing much is going on here...
We were scheduled to have a guy come out to take care of a bee problem between 3-5 PM it's nearly 5:30 now and still no one has come...
We checked with the main office (right before they closed at 5) and were told we are still on for today, but the tech must be running late... ya THINK!

Linda - Good luck with the HOA thing! Hope you don't get power-crazed like the last guy!

Penny - sorry about the Avs. I am rooting for the Habs. If they lose, then my "caring about hockey" is over for the season!

Larry - I love when you give us the deep-dive stuff!

Ohhhhh - that's funny!!!! Our daughter usually calls us/me when she is walking our grand-dog. That's almost every day since she is still able to work from home. Our son doesn't call (or text) us very much.

Hi there! I had an old friend and his grown son with me in my boat designed for two on a snag infested lake. They use my rods and I retrieve all snags. I told them I was busier than a one-legged man in an a$$ kicking contest.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

And this is why we will NEVER EVER live in what you guys call a HOA place (it's called strata management here). Each time we have, the failed middle managers and Karens see their path to power and glory.

One night we had some teenagers who lived in the building set off the fire alarms. We had visitors staying that night. We evacuated and waited.
I did a quick check of the fire panel and then had a look at the sectors that were in alarm—the break glass points were broken, in several location and the sh|tbags were running riot. After twenty minutes no fire truck turned up. We could see the station from our balcony...

I called it in.

When the brigade arrived I spoke to the station officer (SO) and told him what was going on and he asked me to accompany him on their assessment.

Not one apartment owner who was on the committee bothered to evacuate nor did they speak to the SO. As I was both a rural fire brigade member and also an alarm technician, the SO and I decided that as we had found no fire and there were spare break glass panels available that I should repair the damage so the alarms could be silenced without isolating most of the building.

The very next day a contingent of Body Corporate members (HOA) knocked on our door and started up at me about "interfering" as the alarm company were p***. I simply said to them that a) none of you evacuated; b) none of you helped; c) the alarm failed as it did not trigger a call to the fire brigade, so the alarm company need to get fired.

After explaining one or two of them realised they were in the wrong (!) and backed down. One even suggested I should run for the committee. The shocked looks when I explain that I couldn't because I am merely a tenant, not an owner were priceless. "But you always help out with the gardens and putting out the bins!" one said. My answer was "well, I live here don't I?"

So we will never give the wannabe Obergruppenführers and Karens a chance again.

Thanks, Elaine. Me too... and that's who I'm rooting for now, too. :) (I grew up watching the Black Hawks and then the Avalanche. Been a hockey gal for years).
Good luck with the bee issue!!! :-?

There's still a lot of baseball to be played, but the AL West is a mess.
The Mariners are leading the division and are one game under .500.
The Astros don't seem to be able to get their garbage cans syncronized......

They are becoming more popular in just about any state that has (newer) communities. In Pennsylvania they've been around for 25+ yrs.
IMHO they are almost everywhere in SC. One of the worst problems is everyone gets the documents at closing. They just don't bother to look at them. Then they cry -- we didn't know we couldn't do this, that, everything. That's your problem......not the HOA Board or Managements.
