Back from the very quick visit to the bank. All taken care of, for what I was going to do. It's 92 degrees, and very windy. My patio is in the shade about this time of day, so I may go sit outside.

I had a ceiling light out in my kitchen, and they fixed it within just a few hours. :D

do the Ringers know this friend????
Yep. Bruce came with me to Bristow. He smoked those awesome ribs for the Surfpirate's party and tailgate.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Ugh... all this talk of POA and Authorized Signers brings me back about 18 or so years ago when my brother and I had to go through all that with our folks... It was difficult, as much of it had to be done in person. With my brother being in VA and my folks down on LI, it was bad enough, but add in my mom's issue of rapidly declining mobility and eyesight, plus my dad's distrust of setting up anything for online access, made getting it all done a gargantuan effort. But we did, and it was a godsend at the end.

Enough on that...

Linda - what in the world is Child Protective Service waiting for before stepping in to remove those kids from this horrible situation? I just don't understand... One would think the number of times the police have been called there would be enough.

Speaking of police... there was a chase in our town this morning going right up the main road outside our neighborhood! There were spike strips involved, flattening both right-side tires, but he drove several more miles and finally took off on foot, swimming across some water to escape. Never a dull moment! The odd thing is that the plea for info on the police social media did not have the suspect's photo, just his name. But according to the bulletin, he has had previous arrests, so why not include his mug shot... I'll have to remember to watch the news this evening!

My sister and I were 'lucky' when it came to Mom & Dad's stuff. We knew we had to get the POA's for all Medical and Financial stuff before their minds were too far gone. They also cooperated when they finally realized they couldn't stay in their house anymore. The 'adventure' was far from easy, but it brought my sister and I closer through it all. We NEVER once disagreed on any of their care.

And I only have Cameron and my sister who I set up to receive anything of mine. But actually setting up a will and POA is what I have to do next. And make a list for them where things are, account numbers, and such.

E didn't leave me this information, but I had a rough idea, had his job's HR help, and knew a little bit more info to get it done.

From what we understand foster families/facilities are very sparse here (probly like many places). So, what to do with 8 kids ages 14 months - 17 yrs??? The entire community wants them out of here.
