Re: 07.23.2026 - Austin, TX
I went to this show on a whim, as I found myself alone in Austin.
I really enjoyed it. The CRB had more musical freedom to play with some of the songs, and played a great set. I met some new phriends and exchanged numbers and got some invites to a local PH club.
It honestly felt like a Jimmy show to me - different, but the same vibe. The music is still here, and hearing it played live is just different than loading it up on vinyl, tape, CD, digital, etc. I caught myself trying to remember if I'd heard "Railroad Lady" live before (I had, once). And then caught myself again thinking, "wait, does this count, as it's not Jimmy?" I decided that for me, it did.
Anyway, I enjoyed this show a lot, and I also enjoyed affordable tickets and a smaller crowd. Sure, no tailgating and such, and those days are likely lost to time, but this was still good. In the words of the immortal Stitch... yeah, still good.

If I manage to hit one of the CRB shows I’d love to hear Lucky Star. Peter Mayer wrote it, and Jimmy never played it in concert (as far as I can tell). Such a sweet little tune.

I don't have it in my list of songs heard, that's for sure. I wish you joy on this quest.
