Honey Do Saturday @ The MSC
I know it's a stretch but today is National Mead Day and mead is made with honey.
Maybe I'll celebrate by going to the honey store and doing a mead tasting.

Hi there! I needed a day of rest. So far, so good. I get a huge burger at a roadhouse bar that has not only jalapeños on it but banana peppers as well.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Hello "Strangers". I lost a few days of visiting as we were busy with the kids (the 2 adult ones & the 12 yr old who wants to be an adult and the 2.5 yr old who is a "terrible" 2-er).
It was a very busy week but it was awesome to get some hugs from the little guy. We are EXHAUSTED. We just put about 3/4 of the house back together since a lot of stuff had to be placed higher or hidden in our master bedroom closet. The little bugger is into "open/close" so he was busy with every door in the house.
They left this morning around 7 but we were ALL up at 5:30. We just cleaned the house (dusting, wiping finger prints off of doors, drawers, fridge, etc, both bathrooms are cleaned and Kevin "swiffered" all of the floors. 3 loads of laundry are done. We haven't touched any of the windows which will wait until tomorrow. We're exhausted

Re: Honey Do Saturday @ The MSC
Afternoon all!
Back home, yay!! Had a good time at the concert, except for the downpour we got caught in before they were letting people in. They were supposed to open the doors at 6:30, and it was 6:40, but there was an ambulance and crew needing to get inside. My shirt was STILL wet after over 3 hours. The show was really good, great crowd. EWF was more energetic than Lionel Richie. But both good.
When we got to the hotel, the entire Hilton network was down, so they could only check us into one room. When we got back from the show (and crazy taxi ride, Uber was no where to be found), their system was up, so got to check into the other room.
Had breakfast at the hotel, and it took over and hour to get our food, and they weren't that busy.
So, Linda? I get the idea that you're exhausted???
Get some rest today.
Larry, I LOVE mead.

Re: Honey Do Saturday @ The MSC
I went and did the mead tasting. There were two that I really liked, one was made with ginger and lemon and the other was made with peaches. The peach was my favorite, it was delicious. The last one was my least favorite, fig & creamsicle. The woman giving out the samples said it tastes like a liquid fig newton. I thought it tasted terrible.
Before I left I was looking at some of the meads they had, everything was 15% off for National Mead Day. There was one that sounded interesting, it was made with cacao nibs and vanilla. Then I looked at the price, it was $65.00 for a 750 milliliter bottle, which is less than a quart.
On the way home I stopped at Total Wine. They have a pretty good size display of pumpkin beers. It's a little early for that.

I'm all unpacked, stuff put away, took out the trash, and I'm done for the day.

Evening all! Another great day weather-wise here... I fear we will somehow pay for this later!
Linda - sounds like you need at least 2 days of rest for each day your visitors were there...
Penny - what an adventure, sorry you got drenched, but glad you enjoyed the show and did finally get TO the hotel and into both rooms!
Larry - I would say the Peach and the Lemon Ginger sound good... that "liquid Fig Newton", um... not so much!
And I must add: Larry and Penny -It is ALWAYS too early for Pumpkin ANYTHING as far as I am concerned![puker [smilie=puker.gif]](./images/smilies/puker.gif)

Ha! Liquid fig newton is not a winning sales pitch.
As I dislike home maintenance, your condo life looks better, Linda.
I would have enjoyed that show, Penny. The hotel should have been better, though.
It sounds like you don't care for pumpkin spice, Elaine. I haven't had any beverage that flavor either.

And I understand those who don't like pumpkin flavored things, but I LOVE them.

Earth/Wind/Fire was far more energetic, but not by a lot. Phillip Bailey has been the lead singer forever, and he & his Mom both went to high school in Denver. He son is now singing in the band, and he's good.bodypainter wrote: August 1, 2026 6:30 pm As I dislike home maintenance, your condo life looks better, Linda.

And I dislike/can't do home maintenance, which is why I like apartments.

So MsMod, you went for Earth, Wind, and Fire but ended up with Earth, Wind, Fire, and Rain…..

I may not be able to party like I used to, but if I take a nap, I can usually stay up ‘til dark....
