Going downtown Castle Rock to have lunch with one of waitresses from Dukes. We've become friends over the years, so it's a girls day out.

That's all on my agenda today. Mid 90's again, but rain is predicted over the next few days.

I have to go online and schedule a couple of bill payments but other than that I have nothing on my calendar. I made my weekly brewery visit yesterday so that's out of the way until next week.

The weather guessers and computers say we have a few days in the 70°s ahead of us, so all is good here right now. There is concern that the Pacific winds will shift and we'll start getting smoke from Eastern Washington again where they say it's probably the worst year ever for wildfires, with more than 750,000 acres burned so far and we're only half-way thru the wildfire season. There are at least 22 different active fires


I guess it's twoferTuesday...

Hey All !!

Had a nice evening with the "kids" last night. Kevin grilled burgers & dogs and we had Kevin's Nana's homemade baked Mac & cheese. We played a few rounds of "uno" before bed.

This morning Bridget, Kevin & I walked to the pool and just floated around for a few hours. There were a total of 4 people there .

The kids are now off to check out the local World Market store, grab some lunch and then visit Heinrich - our neighbor friend who is a firefighter. Eli will love that since he is a Jr FF back in PA.

Kevin will soon make reservations for some seafood place (I can't remember which one as there are so many here) since the kids want to treat us.

I may head over to volunteer at the library since it's been forever (as in not since the fall).

Major League Baseball is playing its annual Field of Dreams game in Iowa Thursday night. There's a minor league game at that field tonight, one of the teams playing is the Iowa Cubs. They're the Chicago Cubs Triple A team, the Pelicans are the Cubs Single A team. I checked Iowa's roster online and they have a few former Pelicans. Maybe I'll watch the game tonight, it's on the MLB Network, and see how those guys do, if any of them get into the game.

Woke up this morning to thunder and lots of heavy storms. It finally stopped around 12:30 so I went to the store to get a few things and of course the one thing I really wanted, I completely forgot about until I got back home. Just heard more thunder so I timed my trip pretty well.
Doing a small load of laundry with Bryan's new jeans and not much else on the agenda today.
Still waiting on a refund check before we can close out my dad's estate. I can't believe it's been 11 months.

The minor league game tonight is on the MLB Network. The major league game Thursday night is on Netflix. I don't have a Netflix account so I won't be watching that game.

There are 4 former Pelicans in the starting lineup for the Iowa Cubs - the catcher, first baseman (he's from Nassau, Bahamas), right fielder and designated hitter. The first baseman played third base for the Pelicans, the right fielder played center field and the designated hitter played left field. The catcher was mostly a catcher but played a few games at first base.
