Post by SMLCHNG »

Good morning BN! :)

Weather is going to be a little less hot, and some rain is supposed to happen later.

My excitement is to run the vacuum cleaner today. :P

Have a good Wednesday!! :)

Good afternoon Penny, Debbie, and all who wander in...
Just received a fan. It's got three modes that shoot out a mist while the main fan paddles spin :D Very refreshing.
Jerry...from Massachusetts. I'd like to go where it's warm! :D

Good morning/afternoon depending on your time zone.

I got a late start today, I haven't gone grocery shopping yet. :o

The Iowa Cubs won the minor league Field of Dreams game last night. One of the former Pelicans hit a home run.

Hi there! Three guys at the boat ramp wanted info on the river as they were from a long way off. One asked if their jet boat would make through the shallows. I said they should make it and if they get stuck,2 fat guys get out and push. That made the thin guy laugh and the fattest said, "One fat guy owns the boat." I don't think the other 2 could get him back aboard.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Pick up a few things for me at the store, please. :P Glad one of the Pelicans did well. :)

I went to Home Depot to get light bulbs, they're cheaper than at the supermarket. The heat index is 104. I didn't stay out very long.

But you brought us a video/music!! ;) :D

We just dropped 10 degrees, and a small rain cloud went by. Just enough to make the sidewalk wet.

Evening all!

Penny... I had the same thought about Jerry's new fan!

Jerry - it does sound refreshing for sitting out on the deck. From whom or where did you receive it? Inquiring minds need to know! :)

Larry - 104°heat index?! :o Yikes! I would curtail being outside in that as well! [smilie=thumbdown.gif]

Mr. SPH - Thanks for the song! Did JB ever do Mental Floss live? I've used the "life without a brain" quote frequently (though often just in my own head) [smilie=gt_grinz-browwiggle.gif]

Bill - Hey you were just being honest about the water conditions!

I worked today. 😕
Tonight we're dog sitting for our grand dog Gretchen Wieners. Son in law is working and our daughter is playing 90's Trivia at a local pizza place. GW can't be left alone very long as she is epileptic, so we help out.
The bonus grandson was returned to Chicago yesterday and we are all very sad.

Love her name. What type of dog is she?
Sorry about the grandson leaving. :(

According to the song database here on BN he played Mental Floss 13 times, all in 2003. I checked my ticket stubs, I went to 4 shows that year but missed Mental Floss all 4 times. Three of those shows were each 2 days after he had played it at other venues. The last time it was played was 8/28/03 at Great Woods. I went to Great Woods in 2002 but not in 2003.

I couldn't find anything and the database doesn't list anything.

My oft quoted line is "In one ear and out the other"

I'd like to be a jellyfish
'Cause jellyfish don't pay rent
They don't walk and they don't talk
With some Euro-trash accent
They're just simple protoplasm
Clear as cellophane
They ride the winds of fortune
Life without a brain

In one ear and out the other
Don't you get crisscrossed
I recommend you try a little mental floss

It's the small, small problems
That keep me so upset
And send me seeking shelter beneath my mosquito net
I stay there for hours
Protected from the nights
All those insects and vipers
And other things that bite

In one ear and out the other
Don't you get crisscrossed
I recommend you try a little mental floss

I'd like to be a jellyfish
'Cause jellyfish don't pay rent
They don't walk and they don't talk
With some Euro-trash accent
They're just simple protoplasm
Clear as cellophane
They ride the winds of fortune
Life without a brain

It's in one ear and out the other
Don't you get crisscrossed
I recommend you try a little mental floss
It's in one ear and out the other
Don't you get crisscrossed
I recommend you try a little mental floss

Yeah, don't forget to floss every day

Duh! I should have checked that! I was at both 2002 shows... and but just the Saturday one in 2003 and it looks like he played it on Thursday!

Hey all... quick question...

I think I heard JD Spradlin mention that after the Coral Reefers ended their tour, that RM had one more broadcast this year. A Mac & Scotty "Margaritas & Memories" show. Was I hallucinating? I can't find anything about it. I wanted to set a calendar reminder to make sure I listened.
Does anyone here know if this is really a thing?

Hello to all although some might be asleep.

We spent a few hours at the beach and on the way back Kevin dropped me off at the pool to hang out with a few of my girlfriends.

The kids were busy doing “touristy” stuff and came back to join us for dinner. Then the headed back out to play mini golf.

They treated us to dinner last night at a seafood restaurant on the beach. Everything was soooo good.

Now it’s time for bed. See y’all tomorrow!
