I'm off in about 30 minutes to take my car into the dealer. "Check Engine" light came on a few days ago. Hopefully it won't give me any troubles on the drive.

When I woke up this morning I looked at my clock radio and the time was 11:24. I never sleep that late so I got out of bed, went and looked at my watch and it was only 7:15. I reset the clock radio and went to take a shower. When I got out of the shower the clock radio said it was 10:36. I reset it again and so far it still has the right time. The radio in the clock radio stopped working a few years ago but until now the clock was working fine. It's probably at least 20 years old, maybe it's time (see what I did there) to get a new one.

We're at 57° right now, but aspiring to hit the low 70°s.
No rain in the forecast for the next week, sure hope we can get a new roof before the rain comes back.

They were done in about an hour, Bill. Just a software reset, and no cost to me.

The radio in the clock radio stopped working a few years ago but until now the clock was working fine. It's probably at least 20 years old, maybe it's time (see what I did there) to get a new one.

I would say it IS TIME to get a new clock.

I did my grocery shopping and got my senior citizen discount. After I got home and put everything away, I went out again. World Market has peppermint bark already, that used to be a Christmas item. I bought some anyway.

I'm not much of a soda drinker but they had some special sodas in the Halloween section. I bought a Tears Of A Wizard cream soda and a Witches Brew grape soda. In the regular soda section they had South Park Sarsaparilla so I bought a bottle of that too. They're doing a special promotion for Halloween so I got $5.00 off in Zombie Rewards. The cashier told me the reward renews automatically 2 days after I use it so I'll have to go back and get another tin of peppermint bark.

While it is still cold in the mornings here, it's about 3°C (38°F) at the moment, spring is in the air.

We've finally had a couple of sunny days after the mizzle and drizzle. Of course the weeds have gone mad. I mowed about an acre yesterday and while doing that I hit a small tree stump that I couldn't see through the weeds.

So I spent some time making repairs to the mower skirt and chute. It looks a bit agricultural but it will do until the mower goes in for its next service (in about 5 years probably ).

Since I was already wearing my bluetooth ear defenders for the mowing and metal work, I decided to crank up some Jimmy while I grubbed out the offending stump. This led to grubbing out two more even bigger stumps, all of these stumps were left by the previous owners. I have a got out several over the years but there's still a dozen to go.

I then went back to mowing the back camping area as Mrs Rabz wants to get out our camper trailer to take advantage of a good weekend forecast.

This led to the inevitable cutting and splitting of firewood for the camp fire.

This led to the discovery of a big nest of nasty, nasty bull ants. Apparently they call them "Bull Joes" around here, I'd never heard that term before we moved here. A particularly bitey species. They were right where we camp down the back. So I began to deal with them before the weekend's activities.

Today will be spent going through the camping kit in the trailer, charging the batteries and making a backing plate to mount the EV charger that gets installed in the back shed tomorrow. A visit to the big hardware lies in my future, it's only a 60 mile round trip! I might also do some more mowing and weeding.

I thought retirement was when you got to slow down, smell the flowers and consume the wine collection. It seems I was wrong.

Evening all!

Busy day today... out and about this morning, checking a few possible places in RI for a replacement bracket.
Then after lunch, I had a haircut (been almost a full year ) in Bellingham, dropped a plant and card off at my doctor's (she is retiring at the end of the month ), in Milford and then to 2 other possible bracket sellers conveniently near there... struck out everywhere.
Oh, well... I guess I will be making my Dad smile down on me after all. He was the king of jerry-rigging and taught me well.

Penny - I'm glad your car was an easy fix. Perhaps they inadvertently tweaked something when you brought it in for service a bit ago.

Larry - yeah, 'tis TIME to get a new clock! Ours tends to speed up when running on the battery back-up, but not that much!

Mr. SPH - I always liked that Jesse Winchester song! I love Enavgeline's version, which I heard even before Jimmy did it!

When I read the work order on the car, it needed an update. I think the it was just bad timing, IMHO. But I could be wrong. The cool thing was that the salesperson I bought the car from came back into the maintenance area and passed out donuts. I found him before I left and thanked him again for the kind service he provided. And he called me by my name when I saw him. (I bought the car in February)

I generally get a haircut in the spring and fall, taking about 3 inches off each time... but I missed spring this year! I do self-trim my bangs in between. I've been going to the same guys for over 20 years now... he knows my "pattern"

Thanks. It is what it is. I know how I can fix it; it would be easier if I could get a replacement part, but that is not looking good.
