My new favorite song

Post by CousinInCali »

I've seen talk on here before about how our favorite Jimmy songs change constantly. The latest one to make me use the back button repeatedly... Weather is here, Wish you were beautiful.
What a great song about escaping the BS of the world and just getting away from it all. Just makes you want to pack it up and get on a plane.

TWIHWYWB, was one of my favorites too...still is. I've been listening to the "Ballads" cd lately and I'm going to give the nod to "Incommunicado" as my 2nd favorite right now. I'm sure once it hits summertime, it'll go back to "Floridays".

My all-time, never changing favorite is "A Pirate Looks At Forty".

I listened to a number of Buffett CD's this weekend (Buffett weather is finally here in CT!!!!). 8) These 3 really sounded great this time around:

Cowboy in the Jungle
Barometer Soup
Uncle John's Band

Gumbo, "A Pirate Looks at Forty" is still my all-time favorite. It is something special.

This song was known in my school circles at U of Florida as the "Hat Dance Song"

We would play this at parties and throw down any type of hat onto the floor and invite people to dance around it with us. Mind you, we were always a little tipsey, and the "dancing" was really more of a "stumbling", but it was always great fun.

We would do this at parties, and also in bars. I remeber one particular instance resulted in our local tavern turning off my microphone as I was singing it for Karaoke and about 10 of my friends were doing the Hat Dance in the middle of the bar. Apparently I was slurring my words or something. I didn't know what he was talking about.

Another great Hat Dance occurred last year at the Atlanta show when he played WIHWYWB. That's the only time he's played it at a show I've been to. And of course we were on the lawn, so the Hat Dance definitely came out.

Can't wait for 4/17. Party on Parrotheads.

Just picked up Floridays, so I would have to go with either "No Plane on Sunday" or "I Love the Now".

Also throw "Biloxi" in there as another.

It was "The Weather is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful", and I snag it at the Grog House.

It really was a mess. They were having some type of Buffett night, and I had a few too many Margaritas in me. What can I say, the music just took over.

God, I miss school.
