Third Great Woods Show?

Post by pyr8te4life »

I was just surfing the scalper sites, seeing what the prices look like this week (they seem to be the only ones making money these days), when I came across a site called TicketsNow.com. They were selling seats for a show at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield for Sunday, August 24. I know these people are less than trustworthy, but could this be true? Will the Boston area be graced with three shows from Bubba this year, like the old days? If anyone knows if this is legit, please post a response. Maybe those of us who were shut out for the Thursday and Saturday shows will have another shot at glory.

They may have meant Chicago as that is also the Tweeter center.

Sorry, but no third show. What you're looking at is a database that ticket brokers can subscribe to. If you go to the "big" broker sites you'll see all the same tickets for sale with prices varying by a few dollars. The difference in the prices is due to the broker who doesn't have the tickets wants to make a mark up from the broker that he has to get the tickets from. What you most likely saw was someone made a typo. Sorry.

Remember the Saturday show that started at 4PM I think it was 1998. It was so hot on the lawn under that sun!

Are you sure that afternoon Sunday show was 98 and not 97? I'm pretty sure that I remember there being an afternoon show the Saturday after Princess Diana passed away. Kinda morbid thing to connect the concert to, but I remember being in the limo on the way home from Great Woods that night when we heard about it. :-?

Image (for Lady Di and other people who died a sucky death...) :(

The 4Pm show was it was 1998 I still have my stub August 30, 1998 and it was a Sunday. Princess Diane died in 1997 I remember getting home from that show and seeing it on TV, that was also on August 30 but it was a Saturday 8PM show, I have that stub as well.

Was '99 or 2000 the year of the waterslide?

I definitely remember seeing one in '99... :o
but that's not to say that it didn't make a return in 2000. :D

Do you mean to topless waterslide :D that was in the front lot all they way to the right

That was in 2000, it rained a little early but ended up being a nice day as it went on. The cops put an end to it about 3PM :(

But we got 4 hours of fun out of it!

I remember that naked waterslide!! What a blast, people (non parrottheads) still don't believe that could take place in the middle of the afternoon!
Some times I feel like a propeller, spin, spin outtta control. I don't who is up on the throttle, boy I wish they would let it go....

I remember the slide too. That was certainly a sight to behold. Come to think of it the slide was also there on the Thursday before. I sure do miss the slide...
