Far side of the world music video, very cool
I just discovered a music video for "Far side of the world" on mp4.com,it mainly includes video of Jimmy Buffett's travels put to the song along with the studio recording video>it's very good.I would recommend any Buffett fans watch it.Just go to mp4.com,click on "music" at the top of the page and it will take you to a listing of all the videos,I would click on "alphabetical" and then go to page 5 and its the second video listed, you will have to complete a short registration that just ask for email, birthdate, and just a few other basic questions. The video is great and it is worth the time it takes to find it.

I converted mine to an mpeg and created a videocd out of it. First I copied the file to my computer. I then downloaded TMPGEnc mpeg encoder and the quicktime reader "QTReader.vfp". After is was decoded to mpeg, I created a VCD with Roxio Easy Coaster Creator. I can watch it on my dvd player or on windows media player. The quality never was that good on the cd to start with but it's pretty neat.
For those of you on Winmx and dont want to bother ,I have the file posted on there.

Quicktime is good as only as the compression. Actually any video is.
The Far Side video on the CD was compressed poorly. The source was poor to begin with, footage on a home video camera is not compression friendly. Take a look at trailers on the Apple Quick Time site and you can see that videos compressed in Sorenson 3 are good. In addition, if compressed right you can enlarge the QT video and not see many artifacts. Quicktime is used in pro editing software. In addition, you can edit Quicktime videos if you have the Quicktime Pro version. You can also fastforward and reverse streaming QT files in real time (need version 6). Windows Media is also good, but not just right for CD-Rom yet.
ShrimperDan I use Tmpgenc also and it is the best encoder for VCD out there and it's free. I've tested the Panasonic and LSX encoders. Not sure of the MPEG 2 Quality, but that is not free after 30 days.

The video might not work as well on slower computers. I don't know if that might be the problem.
If the video doesn't automatically come up (its supposed to)...go to "My Computer" from the desktop, double click on the cd-rom drive that has your Buffett CD, then see if you can find a file in the folder (should be more than just audio files in there) that is a video file (should be quicktime). If you don't have Quicktime, it should be on the CD ready to install. If not you can get it free by going to the Quicktime website.
