Too much caffeine then?

Just kidding... I know someone else posted that same problem on one of the MMIM threads... where to buy maybe? Not sure. Still waiting for mine from my online order - shipped Monday, where the heck is it? Darn chicago area mail service anyway! Same guy that hijacked cookbooks probably gave it a listen 1st!

I was the one that posted the problem on Tuesday, and someone said to try the search feature?? I tried that but it didn't work, and it's still doing the same thing. Oh well it sounds good so who cares? Maybe Jimmy just did that to mess with us while we're working (or trying to look like we're working!!)

T it's not the disk It's the site where your comp looks up the info "CDDB" or something like that

Try this: (uncompensated endorsement)

http://www.spies.com/~franke/SoundApp/

SoundApp works really well as a computer CD player, and also as a player for just about any other audio media known to the computing world. It's also designed to be easy to use even if your knee-walkin' schnokkered.

I w/ you CRC, I can't see both discs and don't have the luxury at work to get any player I'd like..WMP is my option...I think the same thing happens with the 4 disc box set as well...

Ok, here's what I did and it worked.

You've got disc 2 in the drive. In WMP, go to "CD Audio" on left. It will probably show Disc 1. Go to "Get Names" on top right, go to "Search" on bottom left, select "Search by Artist Name" & obviously type in "Buffett" and enter. ( You could alternately type in the album name, it's just more typing!) Select JB and hit "Next". Select "MMIM" and hit "Next". Select "Disc 2" and hit "Finish".

I forgot - if you check the "back" arrow it should bring you to the track list where you can check off the songs you want to hear. Or you can exit and then come back on and it should be at the track list then.

That's all it is, the service the player uses had the wrong info, perhaps based on the infor burned into the CD. Frankly I'm glad I have a firewall since Windows Media Player does this on it's own. It's none of Microsoft's business what I am listening to. The info wil be stored on your hard drive until you delete it.

Read the privacy statements before you do this, by clicking on Get Names at the top and follow link to privacy info.

To keep sites from knowing what you are watching

Go to Options-media library and click on no access to internet rights this way sites cannot read your playlist while you surf or connected.

The other Application Access allows another App to access the data you downloaded for this CD to be shared so you don't have to redownlaod the titles.
Frankly, I use CDDB thru my ripper and have more control over my privacy.

The above is Microsofts own Media Library service.
Real Networks has a different policy and service, not sure what it is.

Just be aware what you are doing on the net and don't become the advertisers marketing slave.

Moog, what is a "ripper"?

Software that extracts audio from a CD and converts it into a wave file.

For example my mp3 conveter and ripper I use.

The process of direct reading the audio data is called CD Digital Audio (CD-DA) or sometimes referred to as "Digital Audio Extraction" (DAE) or as "CD ripping" . CDex uses CD-DA to read the audio data of the CD disc and write the resulting data into a WAV file or a MP3 file. The advantage of CD-DA above recording the file using your sound card is that there is no loss of music quality; the data in the WAV file is an exact copy of the data on the disc. (In technical terms, using your sound card, the digital data from the CD is converted to an analog signal, which is then digitized again by the sound card. Often the sound quality will deteriorate when going this route, and producing noisy WAV files.) Furthermore, DAE is also a lot faster than ripping audio data with your sound card.

I also use EZ CD Creator which provides same function but different music catalog service.

Thanks, Moog! I'm not sure I totally understand that, but I will after I read it a few times!
