Jimmy getting some respect from other artists.

Post by landshark391 »

It is great to hear the adulation Jimmy gets from the biggest names in country like Chesney, Alan Jackson, and Toby Keith. I saw Clint Black at the Star Lake shows a couple years ago and it was amazing!!! Wish I was in Nashville!!!!! Even if he gets little or no support from the industry as a whole such as radio, he has who matters behind him--His phans and his peers.

Does anyone know other artists who have publicly talked about their liking of the Man himself?

As for Alan Jackson and Kenny Chesney, I'd be a lot happier if JB got respect from artists who wrote their own music instead of pretty boy rednecks who sing other people's songs. I live a block from Music Row in Nashville, and am just tired of all the manufactured crap that comes out of my neighborhood. Woulda loved to seen Robert Earl Keen or Jerry Jeff on stage with JB in Texas over Alan Jackson and Kenny Chesney.

It was great to see Jackson, Chesney, and Keith Stokes at the Nashville show, and even if Jimmy never gets the true respect and attention he deserves, at least he will still have us behind him! :D

I'm with you on that one BigParrot!! It's kinda bitter sweet enjoying the sound of an artist who cant sit down and write his/her own songs.
On another note Jimmy is ten thousand times bigger than all of those guys i dont know why people seem suprised when he gets props from them.

The fact that Jimmy was invited to the Timothy White Benefit back in the fall shows that he is respected by his mainstream peers. Big Parrot talks about the " manufactured crap" of today's country music and I couldn't agree more. These guys may be good singers but the bottom line is they are "pretty boys" who make really good videos. Todays Country Music has been ruined the same by CMT as rock and roll was in the 80's by MTV. Substance that people can look at sells better than talent that people can hear.
