Which Reefer related CD's to own???

Post by kngosmwrht »

As I have all the JB catalogue I am trying to fill my collection with all the other Reefer solo CD's. I know most of these are not in print any longer and I don't want any CD burns. I'm anal for the originals...I spotted these 3 on eBay and I seek your advice on if they are any good or worth owning???

http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V ... =3&rows=25

the seller has 2 Utley/Greenindge pre Trini Cd's and the Fingers "Chest Pains" CD.

Any advice?

Peter's!!!! We've got all of Peter's non-religous stuff. It's good :)

Fingers told me he's putting out a new album soon too....So you might want to be looking for that!

We've got one of Mac's but don't listen to it too often.

You can't go wrong with PM though :)

I'll second that about Peter Mayer Group. His music is awesome! Start with:
Romeo's Garage
Green Eyed Radio
Spare Tire Orchestra
and for Christmas......Stars and Promises
There are earlier recordings but these will get you hooked fast!

I do have the Mayer CD's and his PM debut...I love his style...very talented guy. His solo stuff reminds me of James Taylor yet the PM stuff had a Police (Sting) style to it.

I have to recommend Ralph MacDonald's stuff... www.ralphmacdonald.com

It's less Caribbean and more jazz/pop but it's amazing stuff... not to mention he wrote "Just The Two Of Us"
Eleven longhaired friends of Jesus in a chartreuse microbus...

I recommend anything by Peter Mayer, Mac McAnally, Club Trini and Fingers. Fingers totally kicks a**. He's a fine harmonica player and puts on a great live show. Much different from his work with JB. Blues all the way.

Most of the links at http://www.margaritaville.com/reefers will lead you thru
to their individual sites where you may shop for solo stuff...

I recommend PM's Romeo's Garage very, very highly.

We will be recording a bunch of stuff over Memorial Day Weekend for Amy's next CD - I think she plans on getting it out this fall....

And actually ALL the CDs by the Reefers solo are great! Don't forget Jim Mayer's "Funky as a Diaper" which is a hoot - and Nadirah's 2 CDs are excellent as well.

I agree! :)
I have most of the Reefer recordings (I'm missing the orignal PM and one of Nadirah's) and have not been disappointed by any of them!
