Help with Total Recorder

I was up half the night last night trying to get Total Recorder set up. I could never get it to record and play anything from Margaritaville. I tried to record the Montessori concert with it, and ended up with 2 hours of nothing. Any ideas of what I set up wrong?

go under RECORDING SOURCES AND PARAMETERS,
set recording parameters for 44.100 16 bit.
Make sure top software circle is clicked and current mixer settings is clicked but greyed out once your up at the software part.

I would suggest recording at 128 bit.
